Description:
A Crude Awakening (also known as OilCrash) produced and directed by award-winning European journalists and filmmakers Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack, tells the story of how our civilizationâ??s addiction to oil puts it on a collision course with geology. Compelling, intelligent, and highly entertaining, the film visits with the worldâ??s top experts and comes to a startling, but logical conclusion â?? our industrial society, built on cheap and readily available oil, must be completely re-imagined and overhauled.

This is one of the best documentaries I have seen. It jumps around a lot and doesn't go very deep, but that is what makes it good. It covers so many different topics. This is a must see. And I would recommend seeing it soon, before it is too late.Nansin (2011-11-27)
This is a very good documentary on 'Peak Oil' Video and audio quality are good. However, audio is slightly out of sync with the video. (Still usable, just a bit irritating.) If want to fix the sync issue and don't know how, do the following:1. Download and install Avidemux from:
http://avidemux.berlios.de/download.html
2. In Avidemux, Menu: 'File\Open', or hit 'Ctrl+O', and open the video.
3. When asked to update 'Index' click Yes.
4. Look to the left-side of Avidemux window. Make sure 'Video' is set to 'Copy', make sure 'Audio' is set to 'Copy', make sure 'Format' is set to 'AVI'.
5. At the 'Audio' setting is a check-box titled 'Shift', put a tick in the box.
6. In the Shift 'ms' box enter the value -200 (minus 200).
7. Menu: 'File\Save\Save Video...' (or hit Ctrl+S)
8. Save the video under a different title (remember to append '.avi' to the title).
9. Once saved, the audio will now be in sync.
If you do alter the sync in this way you will not lose any video or audio quality from the original file. However, do not try to seed the fixed video back into the swarm as it will fail hash checks and just get you banned.
Interesting I'd say watch the video very, very closely at around the 39 min 30 secs mark. The commentator says that he would argue that the world has now exceeded sustainable peak supply. Personally, I think that just as he finishes saying this his facial body language gives a show of fear (which he suppresses). Watch and see what you think.
