Of all the people with knowledge and experience on customizing OSes, your versions are my favorite ones. Please release a Windows Vista x64 OS. I don't like many of the other customized OSes because they often contain too many unnecessary additions. I will download this one for my laptop.

I seriously doubt another vista will be released soon. Its not better than XP in anything it does, it lives up to its name but thats about it, its performance sucks! I recall having a lot of problems and slowness issues with XP until SP2 was released so hopefully it will be the same with vista!

It is true that I would like all my computers to be as responsive and quick as them running MicroXP, but for them with a lot of power and running games, these days x64 OS architecture and directx 10 support is essential. I have been running Windows XP x64 on my gaming cmputer with very good results, but I'm playing more and more games supporting directx 10 and I would like to compare the performance. When I have not been playing games I have always thought of the performance in Windows Vista as very sluggish. It could best be described as a very big but slow car.

i d/l the iso, burnt it and im trying at the moment to install it...
no matter wich option i choose - winxp (recommended) or win2003 (recom.) i get a bluescreen error ant can;t go any further.
Any suggestions?

after the setup loads all drivers, before procedig to install i got:

all u need to do is get a hold of the last session.ini file from this and make your own micro using nlite then u can keep the manual install stuff and make your usb install

@eXPerience - Hi, loving MicroXP. Not loving that I don't have Compatability Mode. Is there a way to install this into my version of MicroXP? I really need it for my programs, and you're 99.99% working state wouldn't be true ;)

All the people saying they "can't install DirectX", why would you ever need to, when you can just put the d3dx9_XX.dll files in system32?
Yes, back to TinyXP again just because you can't install DirectX... you're wasting your time and don't need to go back to anything because of DirectX "not installing".
Games need those DLL files in system32, period. You don't need to "install" DirectX. Its already got 9c installed by default FFS, only the DLL's are... well they are not even missing because XP does not ship with them.
Just grab them from somewhere.
People asking about compatibility mode - on XP! What the... I must have tried 300 or 400 programs on MicroXP up to now and have NOT ONE EVER needed that "Compatibility Mode".

for those who has trouble installing drivers, open device manager, click the device w/c has missing drivers, click the driver tab, click Update driver.
click install from a list or specified location, click next.
click dont search i will choose the driver to install
click show all devices, click next
click have disk, and point it to where your driver files are located (it must be an .inf file)
click ok then next
if it's copying files, wait for it to finish then click next
your device is now installed.
this worked for me on motherboard drivers, the crappy sh^tty ecs drivers are a pain to install using its setup

for directx problems go to this website and download 4 files that say xinput unzip those files and throe them in your windows/system32 folder. Tell me is this worked for you because, it worked for me.

For anyone need directx to play game in microxp:
This is how i install directx in my microxp. First stop services Cryptographic. Next rename folder "WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot2" to any name you like (such as "OldCatRoot2"). Start services Cryptographic again and now you can intall directx.

It would be nice to have the windows webcam driver in the driver pack of Micro2003.
For the Asus EEE PC I have resolved by copying and C:\Windows\inf\usbvideo.inf from a normal Windows XP installation to the EEE PC (maybe there are also in the win 2003 but I don't have a normal Win 2003 installation to take the files).
PS: The damn intel graphic drivers from the intel site don't install on Win 2003, and crash if you force them.
PS2: The app at startup that enable hardware acceleration display an error with something like video missing from registry, I don't remember the exact message.

Hey, for anyone that can help:
I have downloaded and successfully installed micro2003 off this multi-ISO but I cant get two main things working:
1) My sound drivers: I'm running the built in sound card on my ASUS P5Q deluxe board.
2) I cant get my razer mouse drivers to work either, they install fine, but the 'On-the-fly' sensitivity does not work, I need it because the default sens of my razer diamondback 3g is way too high for regular windows usage but I like pushing the sens to the top for games.
Its a great OS but I cant currently use it as my main one because of these problems.
