@calseattle - No DVR will ever smart enough to work around American Idol. That damn show never actually fits in it's time slot, and for whatever godawful reason they don't cut when the time is up. It's very hard to program "insert head into rectum."

ahh, i dont have a problem with programmes overrunning, 1 i live in england, two we have the best DVR in the world, Sky Plus+, it knows when a programme overuns and ajusts recording time accordingly. hahahahahahahahaha
