Hmmm... Am I the only one where this game crashes the entire system? This is the first game I've tried on Vista that could actually trigger a hardware reset. Usually, I'd get some sort of "Gfx card reset" error and then Vista'd carry on sucking, but this time, my entire system was killed. Can't really start the game. Gonna wait for an update :( Gurrr

by the way.
If someone has a the sound issue, there is a way to fix it without lowering hardware acceleration.
The eax.dll this game uses doesn't work with most graphic cards. There is a really easy way to fix this.
Just take a eax.dll from another game you have that has no sound issues and replace it. I took eax.dll from STALKER for example and it works perfectly.
(Though just in case don't forget to back up your eax.dll)

um.. sorry i installed the patch replaced Dx with cracks and then ran Assassin's creed but Dx9 still caused an error... i re-installed the game in drive C (i used Drive D before cuz i had more room on it) did exactly the samething, but i still got the error.

Um.. ... i think its the Dx9 file that's like corrupt or something, because with the original Dx9 it its a different error. So i can only assume that Dx9 is some sort of verification exe, and the cracked version somehow bypasses it.... to the ppl who got it to work... did you use the crack in the zip or another crack?

What you need to do (if I'm understanding you right) is copy the crack and place it in the folder where the main .exe file is. Most likely in program files, then whatever folder was created. I have yet to download the game yet, so I'll get back to you if there are other problems.

Hey guys. I've downloaded the "Assassin's Creed-Repacked-Reloaded" torrent, which I'm not sure if it is the equivalent of this one or not. When I mount the ISO file, and go to open it in my G: drive, I get an error saying:
"Windows cannot access the disc - This disc might be corrupt. Make sure the disc uses a format that Windows recognizes. If the disc is unformatted, you need to format it before using it"
Do I need to "format" the disc? I have Vista 64-bit and used Daemon Tools (latest version) to mount the image. to those who cant make it run. try this,
1. extract the iso file using magic-iso to a folder
2. click the launcher, (you will go through installation)
3. look for the crack folder. open it.. copy all the files inside ( control A, copy)
4. go to program files look for ubisoft/ assasins creed. open the folder
5. paste the coppied files from the crack folder.
6. click replace all button..

when i open the dx9 exe it starts running but nothing happens, the screen shows a picture of assassin's creed (like it Would start up in a second) but nothing happens. i go to task manager -> applications but it dosen't say its running than i click on the processes tap and i se assassinscreed dx9.exe or something (cant remember it takes ca 10 000k mem usage. when i try to shut the process down the hole machine freeses up and i have to mamually shut it down. i have a brand new self built pc. with windows xp sp3 32bit.

I have the same issue as WelcomeHome. I've installed this game and set all settings to the highest. I was able to play the game but at some point, it suddenly hangs, then black screen, then exits with a windows error on AssassinsCreed_Dx9.exe address 0x006df2f2.
I thought this was a memory issue and so ran all settings again to the lowest and was able to play longer now but with the same issue, hangs then exit with windows error.
I upgraded my ram to 2GB, ran the game with high settings, played the game and also monitored the game and memory and the memory stops at around 400MB left but the same issue occurs, hangs, black screen, then windows error. Any help/info on how to fix this? thanks

Same problem, no one seems to have a solution to this. I have 2600XT with 2GB ram, my only bottleneck is my cpu 3200+ orleans but if you play the game, its very very smooth, but after some random minutes, it crash. dunno why, but i checked this prob and they always point out the cpu but other single core users can play this game without issues so its something else.
Well, crysis plays perfectly at my pc with high settings, if this doesnt work, ill play prince of persia instead as they are almost the same anyways without the errors.
best bet here is to wait for another patch as 1.02 doesnt solve this crashing issue.
The problem here is it either generates an error report about assassinscreed_dx9.exe or the pc restarts. I guess uninstalling is the only solution so far.

"there is not enough free disk space" although u have more then enough left on ur hd. it's because u hav FAT32 drives, and cuz of its limitations u cant dl over 4GB files.
to convert the drive to NTFS, do the following steps:
click start > run > type: cmd > hit enter > type: convert X: /FS:NTFS, X being the drive's letter you want to convert, for example:

Leon8455-I wouldn't burn to an image...your wasting money that way. Just download Magic Disk and install it. here is a website that will help you create a virtual drive (pretty sweet if you ask me). Once you've set up a virtual drive you can throw the ISO file on it and the computer thinks there is a cd in. Install then play.

When the game starts it automatically tries to download a patch. After the patch installs the game will ask you to insert the CD, however if you just copy the crack over the same way again everything should work fine.
So step by step here is what you must do:
1. Burn the game (must be dual layer DVD) or (and this is much easier) mount the ISO with some other software.
2. Install off mounted disc.
3.Copy the crack from the disc to your installation directory (probably in program files).
4. Start game it will get patch then ask you to insert CD, just quit out of this.
5. Copy the crack from the disc to the installation directory again.
6. Launch game and enjoy.
Everything works great here, I had the game for my PS3, but wanted to try it out on my new computer, but wasn't about to buy it again. Thanks for this.

Hmmm, I downloaded this and seeded 12gigs. Anyways, about 20 minutes into the game, I have lost all voice sounds, I can hear certain sounds but not voices anymore. Anyone else have this problem? I know its asking alot to actually post a response as most of you are just downloading and then shutting torrents off, but thought I might just get lucky and get a response here.

If you are using Windows 7 it is a stupid thing with Windows. I have the same thing happen to me in Fallout and Borderlands.
All you need to do is save your game where you are at then exit the game. Open Winamp or the program you use for music and see if the sound is working there.
If not got through the control panel to Sound and reset your speaker setup. Things should work fine then.
I have found that a number of new mobo's with surround sound setups have a tendency to NOT operate right with Windows 7.

So I've installed it, copied over the Cracked content from the 1.02 update, and have mounted the .iso (through both Daemon Tools and a DVD) but I keep getting the "Please insert the correct DVD, select Ok and restart the application" message. Any fixes/solutions on this one? I'm so close to finally playing this game only to be stopped by my mounted image not working :(

Hey I downloaded the torrent, updated to v1.02 via the link in the description, and copied over the crack contents from the update folder to my installation directory, and when i try to play, it works fine through the movie at the front, but then after the beginning movie, a message saying "Assassin's Creed has stopped working" pops up. Im using Windows Vista, if that helps. Can someone help me please? I really wanted to play this game.

I'm running this on Windows 7 and for some reason the visuals during normal (non-rendered) cutscenes are much, much slower than the audio recordings and tend to finish several long, painfully silent seconds after the character has finished speaking, but continues to gestuculate. This is also strange because the desynchronization (npi) does not carry on througout the scene but restarts when each new character begins speaking. This, unfortunately, renders them utterly unwatchable and incredibly annoying/confusing to follow.

So to all those saying that they have the ''insert the correct cd rom problem'' copy the crack then after you start the game a patch will automatically be downloaded then copy the crack AGAIN and you will solve the cd rom problem..i've got a problem though, it says assassin creed has stopped working. Assassin's Creed 1 Stuttering and Freezing Fix
Enter My Computer, then your main hard-drive (likely C:), 'Windows', 'System32', 'drivers', 'etc', then open the 'host' file in notepad and add these at the bottom:
216.98.48.18 127.0.0.1
216.98.48.53 127.0.0.1
216.98.48.57 127.0.0.1
216.98.48.133 127.0.0.1
216.98.48.134 127.0.0.1
Save and exit the document, and the issue is fixed.
If save/exit not working (Windows privilege system) copy 'host' file to some other folder, edit it there, save it and then copy/replace it on the main file.
