The BBC series which inspired the blockbuster film starring Russell Crowe and Helen Mirren. State of Play is a 6-part British television drama serial, first broadcast on BBC One in 2003. It tells the story of a newspaper's investigation into the death of a young woman, and centres on the relationship between the leading journalist and his old friend, a Member of Parliament and the woman's employer. Another great upload, Sheila! I didnt realize the version I first saw on BBCA had so many scenes cut out from it! (guess that happens a lot there due to differences in time slots/commercial lineups and such). So now (after getting it from netflix) I can see it's even better then I first thought. I thought the 2009 movie wasn't bad, (I usually like anything Russell Crowe does because he's such a good actor), but I prefer this version overall and find it much more interesting! The cast is all top-notch and writing/acting/directing are all 4-star, IMO. Thanks uploader, this totally kicks ass!
