I had no idea this game was coming out for the PC at all, much less with Games for Windows-Live support. Wikipedia usually does a good job of listing all achievement-based PC games, but they completely missed this one. As a side note, if you have an Xbox Live membership, you can use that account while playing Games for Window-Live games. Even while playing cracked/pirated versions. You don't sign your profile in online. You play using your profile while offline, but all of the achievements you earn still count. I've done this a lot. It's not going to get your banned. Because if the game is cracked, then you cannot even go online. Microsoft isn't going to know whether you bought it legally or not if you are playing it offline. It is the same thing that people who own modded 360s do. Just don't break the street date and no one will really ever suspect anything.

Ok, I'm installing right now, on the "Please wait while Windows configures Virtua Tennis 4" screen, the green bar has stopped at approx 20% and it has been been there for a while. Anyone know how to fix this, my laptop is capable of playing this game but for someone reason it's not installing.

Played this game for a hour, its a very smooth game, really enjoyed it. It's like playing on the PS3 except for PS3 having better graphics than my shit graphics card.
Also I don't understand why you need a serial, I installed this, and this game didn't even ask for one.

People who are new to this sort of thing should also note that just because a cracked game is working for some people doesn't mean it is going to work for you, it depends on your hardware and software specs (what chip-set, CPU, etc. you have), also cracked games tend to have a habit of being unstable and may crash occasionally.
And if you like the game then buy it and show the manufacturer your support.

There are two ways to create offline profile one is as you described if you scroll down, you see a blue highlighted line to create offline profile,

Just wanted to say THANKS!! and to add:
For all of you having problems with Windows Live failing to start, I had the same problem. Windows Live wouldn't even start and I kept getting some error. I had to uninstall everything (including the game itself) and also had to uninstall Windows Live ID Sign-In Assistant. Took me a while to find out that this was causing me the problem. After I uninstalled everything, I just ran the installer straight from the disk again and everything worked. Created an offline account and enjoyed the game.

And if the serial isnt working, search your friend google or whatever search engine you are using for a new serial, is the crack not working, again, use your "friend" to find it. i downloaded this game, installed it
played it for the 1st time by creating a local profile it worked absolutely fine.....
then i closed it but when when i tried to play it after that it says "virtua tennis 4 has stopped working" or "windows explorer is not working"
i then uninstalled and reinstalled the game 5-6 times but it showed the same error........
then i restored my pc to an earlier point then again installed the game it worked fine for the first time and after that gave the same error for the second time.......

Nvm, i got my game running by (first)installing older version of gfwl(and secondly installing vt4).
@sanja to play online you need a legit cd key. Cracked games rarely work online.
Buy it, if you like it that much.

TO SAVE: After u launch the game, SELECT SIGN IN(Instead of "Continue without saving"). Then SELECT "Create New Profile"! Next u need to SCROLL DOWN AND YOU'LL SEE A "CREATE A LOCAL PROFILE"(Which is UNDERLINED and u can press that).
And THAT's IT! I too was puzzled about this and found out after 2 days i downloaded this game. You just need to scroll down, REMEMBER!

Install works fine, but I had a problem with the game crashing on startup. I ran the exe from the game directory and it gave me a configuration file error. Installing .NET Framework 3.5 fixed that error and now the game runs fine.
The game has a bug that will corrupt your save games upon exiting, making it impossible to save your game. Sega released a patch to fix this issue but its only available through the Games for Windows LIVE client. A key is required to get this patch and the one provided in the torrent does not work. I'm almost certain SEGA put this bug in the game on purpose to deter piracy.
It would be awesome if skidrow released a torrent of the patched version of this game.

2: now start setup.exe
it will take sometime to install and remember disconnect your pc from internet while installing
there is no need of any serial
when you start the game create an offline profile for windows live and thats it now enjoy the game...

Only issue I am experianceing with this game is when you play it without the online it won't save your progress. If there is something I need to do to play this game offline and have it save my progress please let me know so I can make the necessary changes.

for gamepad to work : go into install folder, execute Launch.exe, select Player 1, select your gamepad in that list and then at the right bottom click on "Reset defaults". after that it should work ok, but you can not change the buttons. it's the default configuration

I HAVE THE FIX.
If you already installed everything
Virtua Tennis 4 and the games for windows client
UNINSTALL BOTH AND REBOOT
Okay now.
for VT4 setup.
Change Compatibility to Windows 7
right click setup and run as administrator
To complete the install it's going to make you download the games for windows client.
once the installation is complete dont do anything with the client.
Instead go and remove the client from your comp
go to

Download that client, and same at VT4
Change compatibility to Windows 7
and run as adminstrator.
You can log on to your gamerprofile now.
Start VT4 and it should prompt you for a game setup and then run it.
Now it should start up and take you to the serial input screen and there you go.
thats it
and if this doesn't work for you then i dont know what.

1.- Monte imagen con Deamon Tools. No solicta número desconocido.
2.- Para usar Game for Windows Profile, necesita descargar programa desde Microsoft site. Tampoco funciona.
3.- Juego no arranca, indica error desconocido.
Si usted conocía los pasos a seguir para configurar la cuenta offline de Microsoft Game usted debió explicar mejor.
4.- Tennis Virtual 4 no funciona, yo tenía instalado Resident Evil 5que también usa Microsoft Game, ahora tampoco funciona.
5.- Necesité desinstalar Virtua Tennis 4, los programas de Microsoft Game, Resident Evil 5, y volver a instalar Resident Evil 5.
Yo pienso, usted explicó muy mal la forma de instalación. Tal vez, en la computadora de usted funciona porque alguien le explicó como hacerlo, pero nosotros no conocer el camino a seguir.
Es muy egoísta esta forma demasiado limitada en las explicaciones.

here is the solution for all windows 8 users. all u need to do is uninstall "games for windows live". should see 2 of the files with games for windows live in ur program list. unsinstall both of them. download games for live from this torrent:
and install and it will downloadupdatesfor windows 8 drivers automatically. when it finishes installing, u then close. then u can open ur virtua tennis and it should load.
