Description:

Magento (open source ecommerce platform) installed as a VMWare Image in Ubuntu Server 7.04. Extract the Zip file and open the vmx file in VMWare Player/VMWare Workstation/VMWare Server. When you see the message "* Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)" then click in e.g. VMWare Player to give it focus. Then press ENTER. Now the login screen appears. Login with the following: user: magento password: magento Type ifconfig to see your ip address. If e.g. you ip address is 192.168.1.33 then open http://192.168.1.33/magento in your browser. Magento is installed in /var/www/magento/. If you want to use a sudo command, then use the password "magento". -- MySQL -- You can use "mysql -u root" to login to mysql. The root account has no password. I've created a mysql user "magentouser" with the password "magentopasswd". Login a magentouser with: mysql -u magentouser -p The database name is "magentodb".
