it got an award for best director from some random ass magazine or something, cant be too terrible...although...no comments yet makes me nervous.

Quality is A: 10 V: 10 when running VLC on a computer LCD.
The movie is 3/10, tops. The dialogue is horribly written, the story is so full of inconsistencies they could fill up three sequels explaining them away, and the dramatic buildup is nonexistent.
They do have some nice locations and effects though, the effects department were apparently the only competent ones on staff.
A good watch for how-not-to-make-a-horror-movie for dummies.
