Mac OS X Snow Leopard DVD (Single Layer DVD)

Mac OS X Snow Leopard Retail DVD modified by myself to be burned on a single layer DVD. (DVD+/-R) I removed: 1-The Printers drivers (but the Gutenprint wasn't removed because it supports a lot of printers and it takes only 10Mo) 2-The X11 Package 3-All additional languages i don't removed the French and the German package. 3-Additionals fonts package. The iso is already in Test and can be used with EmpireEFI for hackintoshs. Good luck! ;)

I used EmpireEFI and burned this to a 4.7 dvd but got an error when pressing F5. "Failed to find boot signature on bios device 9fh" Please tell me what I should do to get past this.

Giraffe19 if you read the info you will see that it says "The iso is already in Test and can be used with EmpireEFI for hackintoshs." I'm pretty sure that means its an iso.

Its a DMG, so difficult to manage in a PC. I have been unable to produce anything but coasters with this in a mac virtual machine, though things like snowosx burn fine. Best avoid.

Avoid using it, it is only to install the ORIGINAL OSX, not snow leopard.

@adi11 u need to convert the dmg to an iso, im pretty sure u can use ultraiso, you may want to find an install tut for ur specific pc. not all are compatible or have the necessary drivers

I got a macbook pro with intel core duo 2.16 and the cd booted up holding the c button and it is snow leopard and everything works. I burned the disk in disk utilty on my hackintosh, Its a dmg file and my MBP had turned off while doing a system update and would only boot into panic and need to be restarted. Yesterday Tiger and today snow leopard with all the updates. The only mac cd I had was snow leopard 10.6 DL and my superdrive don't read DL disk so I'm glad it worked.

And for thoose people tring to burn download it and get transmac. Download transmac its a free trial download just go to cnet download.. with transmac find the file sorry I just checked and my transmac is expired or I would tell ya step for step, so find the file on transmac and I think in the tools section there is a place that says burn file and I have win 7 and I can't remeber its been over a year which burning program I used or if win 7 did by defalt. Hope this helps

I downloaded this and tried both dmg2img and UltraISO and both told me it was corrupted. I then copied it over to my Mac and it burned with no complaints to DVD and appeared to be OK, but it will not boot on any PC I have... not worth the bother IMHO.

If you're scared shitless of your ISP tracking your downloads you should just install 'Peerblock' and it'll block your ISP from being able to see what you are downloading. I'm going to try this out because unfortunately my USB drive is 100MB too small to fit the disc on it as a 'restore' when I select the GUID partitioning scheme...

Thanks alot. I'm surprised there are not other single layer versions but it only takes one good one and you are the one. Spectacular, don't have to deal with Dual Layer. SL looks the best for my 2007 macbook pro machine. Not sure if I trust the Lion series software. I'll reply in a week once I have it on the laptop.

My scenario:
I needed the rosetta support to run an old game of mine, Rise of Nations, one of my favorites...
Well I simply opened the .dmg in disk utility, burned it onto a dvd (at 16x)
Clicked startup disk afterward, specified the DVD, waited about 15 minutes at start up, installed, and now I'm happily running Snow and Lion together on one pre partitioned drive.

I just installed this to my late 2007 white macbook 3,1 and it worked flawlessly. Thanks to yoyo2os.
I never upgraded my original O.S Leopard that came with my macbook until now.
Its real easy. Burned the dmg file to a dvdr from disk utility which took roughly 25mins, it even verified after which took another 10mins. After I installed straight from the dvd which took about 30mins total.
I was able to upgrade to version 10.6.8 with no problems. All my files were intact and everything works, they work much faster now. I'm so glad I finally upgraded. I might even upgrade to Lion.
Thanks again for this. I'm not sure why people are having a hard time from reading the past comments. If you have a mac and have all the specs that is allowed to make a Snow Leopard upgrade then you shouldn't have any problems with this torrent. Windows on the other hand, thats another beast.
