Ok found a fix that should work... disconnect from the internet during install and then after it is through do this... (before opening any CS4 programs...)
1) Open notepad (as admin in Vista) and go to this directory %systemroot%\System32\drivers\etc .
2) Open the file 'HOSTS'...
3) Copy and paste the following list at the bottom of the file...
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 practivate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 ereg.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 activate.wip3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 wip3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 3dns-3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 3dns-2.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns-2.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns-3.adobe.com

4) Save. Now open a new cmd window and type ping activate.adobe.com
If you get anything other than 127.0.0.1 then restart and try again...
You can now reconnect to the internet... this should in theory stop CS4 completing activation but still allow you to get updates.

Sorry for not being clear enough. This is regarding this torrent. In running Adobe CS4 Setup, I get prompted for suggesting/requiring ?? XP-SP3.
Months ago, I was told by a few that SP3 was not a good idea over the top of SP2, had some issues. My XP Pro - SP2 is super stable right now. Just wondering, in your opinion, is the XP-SP3 a requirment or would CS4 setup and apps run fine with XP Pro - SP2 Thanks Ahead!

This should run fine with only SP2 installed... all service pack 3 is (mainly) is security updates... If it refuses to install then you will have to install SP3 but I have never encountered a problem upgrading service packs on xp... hope that helps.

Hey Fish. Did what you said with the updated crack info- everything in the hosts file, pasted the new .dll file everywhere (alot of places!) Then searched C drive and checked to make sure their "modified" date matched the .dll in your file. All systems should be GO, but I get the error "The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812aeb" Acrobat fires up but says it is part of a suite... fire up photoshop to ....
Then when trying this (or any of the others) I get an error before it starts up. (XP ProSP3)
any ideas?
I ran through this twice- same deal both times.

Sounds like a problem with a bad install...
Unistall everything Adobe and then run this clean up tool to make sure everything is gone
Then reinstall, re-crack and all should be fine :)

you do excellent work! everything downloaded and works perfectly fine, except dreamweaver. when i open dw, it immediately shows the initial interface with the version and build info, then it immediately says "Adobe dreamweaver cs4 has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution" then a second window pops up and says "adobe dreamweaver has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

after like 4 hrs of searching, uninstalling, utilizing cleanup tool, reinstalling dreamweaver by itself, then the whole suite several times....i finally found the problem and now it finally works! thx again fish!
p.s. for those that have vista laptops, namely an acer, ull need to update ur esecurity software for dreamweaver compatibility! yea i kno, acer suks! lol

Has anyone had a problem where you can't open any of the programs because "Licensing for this product has expired."? I followed all the instructions in the torrent. Photoshop works correctly (as well as a couple other things like the media encoder) but I get this error whenever I try to open stuff like Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, etc.

Make sure you have downloaded the patch in the link in the comments... the amtlib.dll files should take care of all that...
You need to copy that file to EVERY programs directory for it to work. If you just follow the instructions you should be fine :)

I downloaded this and it worked great for a while, but then it started asking me to agree to the end user license agreement, and no matter what I do, it exits after i hit cancel, or decline. But I ran the activation blocker you had, or whatever it was called. Is there a fix for this? I'm sick of not being able to use illustrator :/

Thanks for uploading this. I am trying to install it but I'm having trouble. I mounted it using Alcohol 120% and ran the ADBESTDSCS4_LS1 that is in the .iso file. After I extracted the files to my external USB Flash Drive I tried running the setup process. I can get as far as selecting the programs but after I click next I keep getting the error message

Nothing I do seems to be able to get passed that. I tried running the program as adminstrator. I tried doing the express install compared to the custom install. Any help and info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. If I'm not able to correct this should I just download it directly from Adobe and will the (newest) activation key you've posted work on a download directly from Adobe's website?

Go into task manager, click the processes tab and end the process tree of any running 'iexplore.exe' processes and try installing again :)

Yeah i got it downloaded and installed, and i must say, no problems or so.
But there is one thing that bothers me
and that is when i enter in photoshop my text zone is deselected so the square around it dissapears and when i do the same thing in indesign my next line is going way down and even how long i make my text area, it doesn't show up. This is really irritating, and i don't know how to solve it. Any help, please?

I saw someone else had asked this question but not sure if there was a resolution. Any time I open up a program I get a license agreement prompt. I saw that you suggested to deactivate but it was greyed out in mine. The program works well but this is annoying. Also, I just wanted to verify that the "call home" feature in the programs is being blocked or disabled.

Thanks Goldfish that worked a treat! I did however run into another problem. When trying to install using the setup.exe I got asked for a serial key. I tried running the generater like 10 times or so to get a key. Or should I just keep trying? I deleted it again everything in the extracted folder and extracted it again and the same thing happened? Any ideas?

I just wanted to say a big thanks Goldfish_92.
A bit of my story and why I really thank all you guys with skulls. I found my computer in a thrift store for $15 dollars and it barely ran w/ no battery and no OS.
I slowly grought it back to life with a new hard drive and some ram.
I was homeless on the street and just recently got myself indoors and clean and my computer plays a big role in keeping me from my old lifestyle and I am getting some new skills that may help find me a career (hopefully in computers-preferabbly graphics).
I really could never afford this program so your hard work has helped me out a lot.
I am real new to all this but I followed your instructions and it took about 45 mins and everything worked like a charm.
So anytime somebody rips you for pirating or anything tell them to F%$ off caus these programs are being used as testers by people like me who are trying to learn new skills to be better people.

Now, I got a question. I know you mentioned this thing about license expiry message. I installed Photoshop separately back in January from some other dude at the forums. Followed instructions, installed key and everything. Now what I was looking for was Illustrator cuz this is what I basically need right now. When I tried to install it separately, both my PS and AI went bananas and were saying I passed my exp. date.
Then I saw you suggest in the patch that you can set the date back in order to avoid it. So this is what I did: I copied the amtlib files each to their respective folders and set the date back to Jan. Works like a charm. However, I am using calendar on my comp so I can't always keep it back. And when I bring it up to April it tell me license is expired.

i downloaded this torrent but when i tried to place the activation key in i couldn't get the any of the programs to ask for the activation key. The weird thing is that when i opened the programs they all came up as activated. Could this be because early in the week i downloaded a torrent for dreamweaver cs4 and activated it.

First go into phoroshop and go to help > Deactivate. Then deactivate and remove serial. Now copy over the amtlib.dll files again over ALL instances in all the programs install directories... You should now be able to set the pc back to the correct time and enter a new serial if requested :)

As for the package posted, scanned clean with online scanners and updated Nod32. Installed with no issue, and post install, did several full system scans via web scanners (Trend, Norton, WSA, Kaspersky) and Nod32 all came back clean. So it looks like burftoo really was just fucking dumb.

Hey SUPERSOR, I had the same issue when I had some updates for photoshop, and I went with it and it worked, it didn't ask me for anything, just the usual update download to your computer. You should be fine.
Hey TWTABOY I had the same problem also lol. I did what Goldfish said and I replaced all my 32 bit DLL files with the one Goldfish provided and use a keygen, and all my programs worked. Give it a try. I can't promise, but it's woth it.

If u have an acer and cant get DW to launch you need to remove (cut and paste them somewhere else) the PSDProtect.dll files that exist in the acer empowering technology program. I just felt so compelled to create an account and post something here.
I downloaded his torrent and the activation patch you linked to. Installation went fine and everything works 100%. Its as easy as following the updated intructions on your other torrent. Only problem I had was that the keygen on the activation update torrent did not work for me, but I just used the one in the iso on this torrent instead. So, so far everything works as intended and I am using windows 7 if anyones wondering. Thanks a million Goldfish.
PS: My only real fear is if using the update option will fuck everything up. Has anybody tried this or is there another way to update the programs? Not that anything is wrong the way it is, but its nice to know you can update.

Goldfish where you at???? I got me a vaio with Windows 7, and I used THIS SAME program that I used in Nov. for my dell XP, which as we know it works. Fortunately, I used this same one for windows 7 and IT WORKS, GUYS!!!
I've noticed that some people are having issues, GUYS... Goldfish posted another Keygen and activation patch that YOU MUST CONSIDER and use if you're having issues. Just remember, do this one first, but if you have issues, try replacing the dll patches with the new activation patch he posted, both 32 and 64 so you should be good to go!

Well, I've ran into a problem. All programs work as they should and this is a minor inconvenience as far as I can tell, but it's there none the less.
As others have reported, the eula appears every time you open any of the programs unless you rename 'adobe_eula' into anything else, like 'adobe_eula123' as others have said. But Fireworks will not start when you try to open a .png, which is has fireworks as default to open with. You can still open fireworks and then open the .png using the fireworks 'open' file option, or you can leave adobe_eula as it is and open the .png from windows explorer and fireworks will start with no problems except that the eula window will appear everytime it starts for the first time.

Goldfish - I want to share my experience with you since I downloaded and installed CS4 in February 2009. I followed your instructions and the applications in the suite I opened worked fine. However, each and every time I opened an application it requested I accept a license agreement at which point I clicked 'decline' then it opened and worked great.
Just recently programs no longer present the licensing agreement but rather just open. Now here's the interesting part - any of the programs I did not previously open will not open at all saying either it is not licensed or I get a 148-3 error.
For me, this is not a problem because the programs I use had been opened in the past so they work. I've never put in a key nor have I tried to update the programs.
You've been very generous in sharing this suite and I wanted to pass along my experience for whatever use , if any, you may gain. I find it very curious.
