WoW! What a movie. I dont know how to rate that. The story line is a lil deep for a futuristic Sci Fi but I like the religious zelot driven society idea. The monsters just keep comming and I dont think I have heard that foul of language and seen that much blood in an animation before. I did like it but its weird & bizzar like the movie Event Horizon was. Thats for the upload FXG!

What a waste of time. Absolute rip-off of Aliens (directors cut) - borrowed concepts like discovering the artifact (the alien ship in Aliens), wiping out the colony, and even borrows a number of musical scores and ambiance effect from the film. Absolute trash dialog ("sh*t! what the f*ck?! this is f*cking bullsh*t"), filled full of cliched action movie lines. And as for the animation, it's as simple as a bad budget Saturday morning kids cartoon.
But, each to their own I guess...

It's good to play at least HALFWAY through the game and then watch the movie to get an idea. It's kinda fun to play the game and find all these audio/text files and have no idea of the source really. Because your character doesn't know either so it kinda goes more in depth.

People giving sh*tty comments about this movie probably don't know squat. This feature film was made to complement the video game Dead Space, as a prequel. I just finished playing the game and can really say it's one of the best survival horror games of 2008. Well, I'll admit this film isn't at par with the video game, but its suffices in filling the gaps to the story. Those watching this film and expecting an oscar-type movie--duh?!! Stupid!

This movie ends EXCACTLY at the time of your arrival in the game. The ship you see at the end is your ship in the beginning of the game.
This movie is made to give some insight in how it all started and I think its awesome.

the movie could've been better animated and it seems at first that it's just for little kids, until you see the gore. to anyone who is into the dead space series, you should play/watch in this order( i think ): watch DS: Downfall, Play DS1, watch DS: Aftermath, Play DS2
