PSX PS1 PSOne Oddworld Abes Odysee

"Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee" This game is for the original Playstation 1. *Bin/Cue format. (NTSC) *I know this game works perfect for Playstation emulators. In ePSXe:
1. File>Run ISO.
2. Navigate to game folder.
3. Make sure to open the .cue file. NOT THE .bin
file.
4. Enjoy!!!

Everything works fine, except for saving.
In pSX 1.13, the game won't save - at the save screen, it will read the memory card fine, but will stop reacting to the controller, although it doesn't freeze.
Other games have saved fine with the emu.
I tried it out in epsxe, and it works fine.
However, I don't use that emu because it does not seem to want to cooperate with my graphics card (after many hours of messing with the config xD)
any ideas? anybody?
