His fellow pilots and himself regard their aerial combats as a glorious sporting contest, ignoring the horrors of the trenches below. After being wounded in action, von Richthofen falls in love with Nurse Käte (Lena Headey) and realizes he is only being manipulated for propaganda by the Generals. Torn between his disgust for the war and his love for aviation, the Baron is offered a position away from the battlefront. To Käte's shock, he refuses to leave the firing line, stating that the pilots dying at the front don't have a choice, but he does. Ultimately, he is killed in action by Arthur Roy Brown (Joseph Fiennes), shortly after he and Käte had planned their life together. Production background: Der Rote Baron is a German production filmed in the English language With an estimated budget of 18 million euros, it remains is one of the most expensive and at the same time lowest-grossing film in German history. It premiered on 31 March 2008 in Berlin and was released a week later in the German theatres. Fewer than 100,000 movie-goers saw the film in the first week, causing the film to miss the Top 3. Når man ripper en film på over 2 timer med AC3 lyd og klemmer det inn på 750Mb må nødvendigvis videoraten bli lav.
Med en videorate på 394 kbps blir bildet på en stor TV svært dårlig.
Er ikke meningen å være surmaget eller utakknemlig, men snarere gi litt konstruktiv tilbakemelding.
