what's the difference between theatrical and director's cut?Tualatin (2008-11-30)
This is a high-definition version of the original film. Some 60 minutes shorter than Director's Cut.The quality is very good though and the german soundtrack is of superior quality [ 5.1 384] compared to any [2.0 192] other releases. The english subs have been re-touched in a good way. The original subs were of a lesser quality and missing in some spots [e.g. the u-boat base in the beginning, Chief engineer is called on intercom]
Anyway, I wish they will re-do the Director's Cut in a similar fashion!
