Dunno what went wrong then, had the installation open and the website mentioned in the text below, to be able to play online. But Avast showed me warning after warning. And some program tried to install a bogus version of pc health. Must be another program then, causing these virus messages, since other users don't have them. My bad.. I suppose.

Okay man, When I go to install the 4th disc or w/e, it just gives me an error about "options" or something. Can you help?
Also, what do mount and unpack mean, like I'm assuming mount means install and unpack means extract but I've never heard those terms before

I downloaded the torrent and I followed the instructions exactly, I got everything to work. But then all of a sudden while I was playing all the monsters disappeared and I couldn't accept quests or log out or do anything but walk around, so I quit the game and then when I logged back in it got stuck at "Retrieving character list" and didn't do anything from there. I have installed the game and have been playing it for about three weeks now, but when the new patch came out to 3.0.2, I changed the realmlist again but it still won't let me log in, does anybody know why this could be? or how to downgrade from the new patch without having to reinstall the game again

Dudes, same problem here, upgraded it to 3.0.2 can't login anymore. Tried my best! Is there a way 2 downgrade the game 2 2.4.3 without deleting the whole game. And i figured that if if reinstall the game i would be forced 2 download the patch again cuzz i couldn't cancel it.
So guys..., any suggestions, it would be awsome, cuzz i am kinda addicted 2 this game!!

You could also go to another private server, just do a google search for wow private servers, find the ones that are updated to 3.0.2 and create account, but you never know I think the embers of the legion will update there server just be patient, I'm not going to downgrade to 2.4.3 so either they update or I will have to go some where else, but I will wait and see if they do, before I do go some where else so please update!!!

No, I just set my firewall to block access to the launcher but not the program itself, so the launcher never connects to the internet to see if there is any new updates, it just launches the program and I can download and install the updates manually as needed

guys dont update to 3.0.2 u'll need 2.4.3 to play! server will of course be updated to 3.0.2 but that will take a couple of weeks cause its much work to apply a new patch and make it as bug free as possible...delete set patchlist so will no the game update automatically

here's how to version down back to 2.4.3 if that's what you'd like to do...
step 1: go into your wow directory.
step 2: delete the file named wow.exe
step 3: go into the folder data and delete the file labeled "patch.mpq"
step 4: run the blizzard repair utility.
the utility will restore wow to the version you had when you installed the game first
step 5: update your wow files back to 2.4.3
step 6: fix your realmlist back, it's on blizzard's again
step 7: BEFORE running the game again, and it forcing you to run the updates again, change your launcher icon:
to do this, right click on the icon and select properties
in the tab labeled shortcut, there is a target field
change the file that it points to from launcher.exe to wow.exe
this ensures that you skip the version check from the blizz server.
this is how you version down to 2.4.3 from 3.0.2

Idk y so many people are complaning this works perfectly. It downloaded in about 6-7 hours, novirus no crap at all. Once u get it unpacked mount using daemon tols. Then go to my computer and run the first (mounted)CD. Then once all have installed use thie installer in the burning crusades folder and instal that. then go to http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_mirrors and download 2.x-2.4.0 then go to 2.0 - 2.1, 2.1-2.2 etc. ONce that is done change the realm list to this one or a different one. The realmlist should say
setrealmlist blah-blah-blah
delete everything else. Now change your location of the shortcut to wow.exe instead of launcher.exe. Open up WOW and there u go.
Heres an extra hint dont use servers that are running a 3.whatever beta server/ They suck. all they are are a bunch of glitching sneekpeaks to the wrath of the lich king.
