I had a small amount of trouble running this game on XP. the sierra logo video at startup wouldnt play the video, but it would play the audio, and then the game would crash.
the solution is to find the Sierra.avi video in ~/Sierra/Gabriel Knight 3/Data/ and replace it with a short video with the same encoding (Cram codec).
