i am new to downloading games and i have downloaded this one and i have unpacked and double clicked the clearsky exe and then the make desktop icon so i clicked desktop icon and another window says press space to start which i did and another window pops up saying 'the application has failed because d3dx 37 was not found' am i doing something wrong?can anybody help pls

this happens when your DirectX is not really up-to-date, search with google for directX and download+install the latest package, and the game should work fine after!...

Well I fix it not sure how. but i think there was somthing about the DX10 Lighting Blah blah graphic options :\

Infact had to instal DX again.
not sure what it was...but Problem Solved not a big deal tho.

Well what is ClearSky-Start.exe supposed to do. I get a small window and then on the start bar its says dont remove. What is the .exe supposed to do. I got into the game without it but when I start a new game the screen just goes black. My specs are Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz , 4 gb ram , 8800 gt. , Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
Can someone shed some light on the matter ?

lol, my bad. ok Keyboard wasn't working due to the fact that the keys became set all to blank.

Simply remove the xgerman file from the
deepsilver\s.t.a.l.k.e.r.-clear sky\localization folder and you'll be all set

worked for me after I mistakenly applied the official 1.5.08 patch and then realised there appeared to bo no cracks around.

Hey ToeD, my game is continuing to crash even after a reinstallation. It crashes when I am trying to join the Freedom clan. I am currantly just after that part where you go underground helping Duty clear out the sewers and find the guy thats somewhere above you. Then it said if I wanted to join Freedom, I could. sorry Subzero but your HOW TO PLAY is not correct . for people what dont know run this game succesfully my advice is:
1.unzip
2.run batch file (fuckya)
3.if u want english so remove file (xgerman)in localizacion file
4.make shortcut from batch file on your desktop adn enjoy

ERROR!!! But I fixed it!!!!!!!! dxd9 error comes up if direct x 10 is installed without installing direct x 9. Sounds funny but I reloaded vista and installed dx10 and the game would not run. I went to a microsoft site, installed directx 9 and now the game can find the direct x 9 dll in the directx10 files.

I had a similair problem with game crashed, but mine was to do with save files. I found that there was a problem in my directory, because the game wasn't very clean (I think it was the first ever version, which was extremely buggy) so i downloaded a registry cleaner, ran it, and the problem was solved.

HOW TO PATCH GAME TO V1.5.10:
1)Go to regedit
2)Find "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GSC Game World\STALKER-STCS]"
3)Edit "InstallPath" from ":\\Deep Silver\\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky" to the directory that you have this rip stored in.
4)Edit "UNINSTALL_CMD" to, once again, your install path except at the end type "\unins000.exe" (no "").
5) Download V1.5.10 patch from: http://stalker (.) deepsilver (.) com/patches.php?lang=eng (remove ()s)
6) Apply the patch.
7) Download the crack for V1.5.10 from Game Copy World.
I can make an .exe file to do all this for you, if I get around to it.
