Suggestion for Caish5:
For stunning quality rips try: use the H.264 video codec, which is far better than XVID or DIVX because those codecs use the outdated H.263 codec as a base. Second use Vorbis audio at quality 4, Vorbis is the best codec at achieving transparency at 128 kpbs. Another trick is to put a low noise filter across these videos to remove film grain that often can't be seen by the human eye, and this improves compression immensely.

I was going to do some more tricky compression early on, I'm actually a bit of a dab hand with it after cleaning up some old home movies. But unfortunately the others here wanted to keep it simple. So I just left it tried and true.
Although it's gotta be said, the DVD's themselves are pretty shite. MPEG artifacts abound.
But I think I could probably do h.264 for volume 36, I already have 35 encoding now.

Caish5: I had a feeling the quality of the dvd would have been slightly poor. if they cant do decent menu's the rest would be bad too. I mentioned the coding as i downloaded firefly in two versions and the one i quoted above was stunning quality but all depends on original dvd quality.
i am quite happy with what your doing :-) as the last 250 episodes i have never seen so its good to see. once the price comes down will get the actual dvd myself, but still a huge price to pay. so thanks for your help :-)

caish5 you da man for upping this whole friggin series to us. Thank you! I have a question though- why is it that I can't get Vol37? It's not on the pirate bay and I don't know anywhere else to look for it. Any advice greatly appreciated.
