@Elbart Some people don't know the difference between a video codec and a video container, give him some slack
Even if it's encoded with x264 if the bitrate is less than 900kbps the quality would be shitty :P

He is not wrong, people don't necessary say the video quality is always good with mkv, but that people who do mkv usually put a lot of efforts into making them, and that they have a good quality overall.
