Audio from the videos are contained seperately in a .erf file. You cant really do anything about it, or the ammount of effort that you put in won't be worth it (to time consuming)

C:\Users\(usernamehere)\AppData\Local\Temp\mtka_tmp

when the activator is running, edit ONLINE_MODE=true and RC_MODE=true to false in lang_dfa.ini.
Save then run activator from that folder. then it just askes for a activation response licence file to activate offline after giving you a offline activation request file. Wouldn’t you just need to trick that somehow?

The install was fine. But when I check the DA2 folder where I installed everything to. There was only a few .dlls and a launcher that gives an error. No .exe, sound, texture files or anything like that.
I don't know if you are supposed to copy over the 5GBs to the destination folder? Anyways its not worth it.
When the crack comes out. Its going to have bypasses for all the checks this stibborn game requires. So I doubt you won't have to download the entire thing again.

I like variety. This is a different kind of RPG. If you want a heavy RPG game that's not as fast paced, check out Mass Effect. Hell, play some KoToR. Dragon Age 2 is just like Splinter Cell: Conviction is to me. It's a different kind of game with similarities to it's previous titles.

@mofo7mofo What are you basing this on? The last 2 games to be released by bioware were da: origins and mass effect 2 both great games. Aside from that they have one of the best track records. I played the demo for da 2 on the pc and 360 and the only change from origins as far as i can see is some combat tweaks for the better.

@Isti01, I would probably try a massive DDOS on the webserver and hope it goes bonkers. Though frankly I think the EA/SecuRom servers will be too well protected- alternatively I'd try to get a person on the "inside" to leak the required files.
It's not entirely impossible, however definitely a big risk to take for only a minor time gain.

Longer and shorter are "somehow" subjective, in Origins people have reported playthroughs ranging from 30 to 100 hours, most reviews of DAII put it at 50 hours... again it depends on how you play the game.
As to the crack, the unlock will happen at 02:00 in Russia at March 8th... so let's hope someone is already working on it.

Why can't we bypass it right now? because the files are encrypted, what happens when someone gets the decrypted files? they begin working on cracking the other protections there and release it... you replace your encrypted files with the cracked decrypted ones and.... wallah you can play the game.... just relax guys.

for the people asking why the size is so small , i have a theory and i think its true :
1- of course because the story is shorter but also..
2- You can only play a human character , hence ALL the other races animations moves voices even race specific armors arent there , which means that alot of content gets cut out, and i knnow Hawke is voice acted but its only one extra character voice Vs. a ton of animations :)

It depends on how many files are encrypted. If only a few then they will be uploaded as a crack and it will work, but if half of the game is encrypted and it's impossible to upload the decrypted US game files to us europeans then yes, we'll have to wait. This is only how I think it is though.. nothing of what I say is fact lol

You know how long it'd take to download half the game and decrypt 3 GBs of Data? yup you guessed right, it'd take too long.
The only encrypted file(s) would be the DragonAge2.exe if I have to guess, the decrypted version would just have SoildShield protection like DS2 which is already cracked by groups like FLT and Skidrow... also this is an illegitimate copy of the game, do you think it'd unlock even if you tried at said date?
All I'm saying is... the release date check won't matter if the game is cracked, the crack won't tell the difference between a EU or a US version.

No it's not anything to do with EA, are you so fucking blind blaming ea for everything? DAO had the same thing apart from the release date check. I quote directly from BW forums.

Dragon Age Origins was only 7gb . And smaller size does not mean content is smaller. There is a ton of other factors. Bioware themselves have said why the game file size is shorter
Oh for the sake of bacon. It is this sort of doom and gloom naysaying that depresses the heck out of me. "Oh, I don't really understand how things work in the industry, but 7GB is less than previous, so it must be bad."
I shall try to explain in 3 main points why Dragon Age II is 7 GB.
1 - We used a different compression scheme in DA II than DAO (something called "ogg" I am told).
2 - 2 less fully VOed langauages
3 - Optimized mesh data, physics and lighting (which I am told reduces the footprint of environments by close to 75%)
I know some will still doom and gloom, but the game is 7GB because we are better at making games. So, now that you have some reasons why the game is 7GB I hope this will calm some of you down.
That is what they said in a thread on the forums. Anyways you all know that half of origins was nothin but filler and padded its numbers. In the Fade and Deeproads were taken out, the game would be twice as small and the game would be just as good.

Most people know that cd key checks are routine and have been quickly and easily defeated in the past. Most already understand that DA2 uses a release date check. I think the confusion comes from the fact that most people do not understand why a date check cannot be defeated before the trigger date. There are gaps in our knowledge. Ok, so people are asking how can they not crack this oh simple release date check! Well, it's pretty clever I should say, You see, there is a .exe to actually run the game (most games are run in a similar fashion *duh*) When cracking the game, crackers (let's put it simply) edit the .exe and bypass or remove the protection it holds. (note sometimes there are other files involved but that depends on the game and dmr). So basically what is stopping the crackers from doing this is that they do not have a valid and correct .exe file. It is (putting this simply) just a piece of code, which in this very unfortunate case, requires decoding and decrypting to function. The decrypting will ensue when the game is unlocked, everyone putting in a cd key (legit one) and passing the release date check will be able to update the .exe (decrypt it so it could be functional). But well, apparently the game already got unlocked in some parts of Asia, so I suppose soon we will get a crack, if there are no surprises in hand.

This might be silly but I was fooling around and wondering if this is possible.
If you where to use a program such as freecap which injects a dll or something into a program of your choice and forces it to go through a proxy, couldn't you then trick the release date checker into thinking its sending the request out from hong kong where the game is released? or does the release date checker just check the version you have?

I have the same problem as logan, i extracted the parts and tried to install the game, i get past the serial, but when its installed i look up the folder and only see a DLL. file and some other files, meaning the installation hasn't completed succesfully. When uninstalling the game it was just 2gb... < for some reasons i cannot install this game, if someone knows whats going on please help.

I have tried uninstalling several times different ways but so far with the same result.
Only thing left to try (in a bit) is to clean the registry of traces that thing left, but that might be tough as EA is known to spam the registry... I'll repost if I succeed.

because this one is different, this one is not an image, is a dragon age 2 folder that contains sub folders like: bin ship, data docs, installer and etc...

Oh well, play.com are processing my order. So i'll have it before the crack no doubt. I'll still check back here every so often but with all the arguing fannys its getting pretty tedious. Also i downloaded what i presume to be a dvdrip from usenet and i am having the 887kb problem as well so it isn't just isolated to this torrent. by the looks of it though the files i got in the rip are all that are needed to run the game as i can launch all the registration stuff with the .exe posted here earlier.

The high quality texture pack is out on Bioware's site. Go download and install that to kill some time.
For those of you having trouble installing this version, often you have to manually copy (not move) all files to the install path, then run the installer again. If that doesn't work, just get a proper unfuckedwith ISO.

First off I completely uninstalled and deleted all contents, second I unpacked it from the torrent and put the EA folder just on my desktop for now and I did not install it just unpacked. I added this crack

I also had a problem with the high res texture pack. I believe it is a registry problem due to the fact that it doesn't use an installer. Anyway the second time I tried it it run perfectly.
I passed Flemeth and I'm just outside Kirkwall at the moment. Everything seems to be working. I guess we'll wait and see.
Also, the game is really hard on Nightmare. Very enjoyable.

Just played for like 5-6 hours. I'm playing on high quality and it jumps around every once in a while in the cutscenes. Other than that, the game is running perfectly. High graphics look amazing, I can't even imagine what very high looks like, but I do know my comp could never keep up with it

Alright, the game is running fine here with these settings: 1600x1050 resolution, maxed out AA and high graphics - 35~42 fps.
The problem is when i put it on very high graphics, fps drops to 8~11 even with disabled AA and stuff. Depending on the camera position the floor looks glitchy (black triangles). I've installed the Highres pack but it didn't solved my problem. :P
Is that normal to have such issues playing on GTX 570 SC, AMD phenom x6 1050t, 8 gb ram and W-7 64 bits PC?

well I've played some now and i can save i get sound and right now I'm climbing mountains with a babbling elf.
when i tried to install the game by using auto start in ./__install regardless of what i chose i got a error code 2324 (custom or default).
i also checked "Program Files, Program Files (x86) and ProgramData" to see if any folders with dragon in them had been made and found non.
so i believe its enough to copy the game to where you want it crack it (%game%/bin_ship) and play it.
if you cant save try using the "%game%/bin_ship/DragonAge2Config.exe" that might be why i can save.
don't forget to save the settings before you exit the config tool.

looks like we who cant load/save will have to wait for some nice fellow who knows what he's doing to make a fix.
It seems to be a similar issue to the one mass effect 2 had. For that one a fix was up here the next day after the release, while an official patch from bioware that solved the issue came after half a year i think so i wouldnt count on them for help.

Allright so the game worked fine until the flemeth stuff, then i did like one dude said. Turned off Auto save, but i've noticed that i cant auto save at all. There appears to be some endless save loop that never ends. I got past flemeth and into the town only to get a endless loop at that cutscene, i thought "Okay, i'll just load the last save which was a couple of minutes ago!" Only to notice there was no save whatsoever.
Can you people save? Be honest.

Then i am at a loss, the game runs fine, no lag whatsoever or delay's. Only issue is when i try to save manually nothing happens... and when i open up the menu i cannot click the save option. This game will not run correctly on a single core processor.
You will be able to play fine (as well as your single core usually lets you play), But you will be unable to save/load/autosave and you will often be caught in endless loading screens.
Your only option for playing this game if you have a single core is to leave your computer on 247 and hope you don't get caught in an endless loading screen on your way to the end of the game.
Bioware might patch this, But if it takes as long to patch as it did for Mass Effect 1, You will be waiting months.

When I use various cracks, I get the same error message "Dragon Age 2 has stopped working." The game never loads and it's really frustrating. If I use the original EXE then, I get the online activation screen.
I played the demo on this computer and signed up for an EA account then. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

I've got a problem, and through these 30 pages of comments I can't find anyone having the same problem.
I try to install the game, and I start the "autorun.exe" file.
As soon as I click "Custom Installation" I get an error message saying;

Lol Hey guys The problem with not being able to save and stuff i already solved it idk if it has anything to do with single core or whatever but all u gotta do is go my documents there you should see "Bioware" now go to dragonage 2 than you'll see settings click that and open DragonAge it should open in notepad now look for AutoSave=1 change that to AutoSave=0 than save now your set i would have posted this yesteryday but i didnt know how to post comment

all that does is disable the autosave. You can do that from the ingame menu. Our problem is the game wont save at all regardles if its auto, quick or just a normal save.

That bug most probably isn't from the crack. Looks like a recorrent bug from the first Dragon Age. Anyone who have played Origins remember that would have to disable the autosave feature to play without lots of crashes.

The high res were installed normally here, and definetly the graphics are on high.Most problably its your installation or torrent downloaded.
About the autosave, i've got a phenom x4 9650 and I CAN autosave, but it crashes much more often than without it.

If your game crashes continuesly try using the DX9 instead of DX11, solved mine at least (using theta or RELOADED crack vercions) theres a posivility the problem is related with autosaves tryit yourself for me im ok with the DX9 anyway

I actually ahve to say this. Im impressed by the grafics and the new interface, story is very entertaining,
But when it comes to fights,cooldowns, talents. they really fucked up.
As Tank, no real appealing abilitys, no AoE Taunt, and its impossible to keep aggro on 13+ mobs in this game.
And as for Heal... 60 sec CD Healspell. And there is only 1 heal. and u have a Potion cooldown also,
They have turned the best singleplayer group fight game genre into a booring DPS race.
i dont know what they are thinking, but when it comes to fight. DA:Orgins Wins

yes but mobs always comes in waves later on in the game, and a 20 sec cooldown is just retarded.
for me it kinda feel that the feeling is gone
its fun and all but its all just run in a town story mode, with same textures on "dungeons"
no adventure at all.
but maybe thats just me, i loved the first game, and this does not feel like a follow up in the dragon age series

Someone please help. I'm an avid pirateer if you can call it that, and I do buy the game if it's good enough. I did/tried everything with this crack but it just doesnt effing work! I install from the _install disk1, then enter key, standard install place, etc etc. I then copy the crack in the uzipped files' bin folder. i configure it to my monitor 1920x1200 High graphics no AA(dx9 or11 doesnt matter, I still crash) Then start the game, I get a black full screen then crash right after that with the windows 7 program stopped working thing. Awesome upload. Thanks aton. What have they done to Dragon Age tho. The first one was simple enough. Now its a game for 2 year olds. I cant find anywhere to select a different voice for my character ( he sounds like a fag) and the fighting/story is cool/good. But the speech choices with there little symbols, and the skill building/armor is just way to simple. I read afew comments about how it was simplified but fuck me, are you serious!!!. Bring back Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, and Neverwinternights days, where you had to put some thought into it lol. Im playing Dragon Age 2 and thinking about Dragon Age. Once again thanks for upload/worked fine for me :). Not sure if ill buy this. Im abit disappointed :(

So they can sell it to a broader audience. Previous Bioware games (Including DAO) was made for PC and hyped to be Baldur's Gate's 'spiritual successor'. This dumbed-downed game was made for the console gamers...not us. (Bet you EA had some part in that decision making processs...thanks for letting the publisher fuck your quality product Bioware)
Although I'm grateful to all the folks who helped the share this game, it's is a rainbow colored turd. It's pretty to look at (graphics are somewhat nice) but once you get into it...welll it's just shit, isn't it?

Hey guys. I need some help installing the DLC. ok I follow the instructions, to the letter. But it continuously tells me Dragon Age 2 isn't installed. and the thing is, it's not.. not really. I downloaded the clondedvd version, unrar'd it to my desktop, added the crack to the folder it un'rar'd to, and it works, I didn't physically install it, so is there a way to bypass it? the activator thing seems to be shit, all it has are ??????????????? all over it. Can the DLC + Activator even worth with this release?

Go to DragonAge2Config (its in bin_ship) and run it as administrator.Then go to "Repair" and select all.By doing that you will fill the registry with the needed info so that the DLCs see the game as installed.And after you install them you will get addins folder.

a little fix for save glitch and infinite loading screen
Works on Windows 7 and multi core CPU and yet I experienced these if you check task manager > performance and you see only had one CPU there. So something weird was going on.
open start > run > msconfig and went to boot > advanced options and deselect the checkbox for 'number of processors'.
Then reboot. Now I have 4 CPU's in my task manager.
Just tested the game and now it works fine, even with autosave on, music enabled and Directx 11.

Im having a weird crash I have never seen. I will start the game get to about 20 sec into the first part of actual play, and the game will crash. I will then get a windows error saying "Display Driver has stopped working." I have updated my graphics drivers, and am running the game as admin. I have looked across the comment pages already and on the internet. Anyone got any ideas?

If you wasted 2 minutes of your life to see other pages for a solution you wouldn't need to ask that question...go to bin_ship>DragonAge2Config>Repair and select all.Then DLCs will be able to install.

yes they really fixed it , but i think the cracked one will be the full 1.01 with the single core fix and the other fixes

how do you install this game? the key-gen provided let me start the installation after extraction. then i used this crack

and installed it to bin_ship dir in the extracted folders. then i started the launcher and hit play. that first check my computer setting and then went on the the ea registration setup. i made an account but none of the keys from the provided keygen (activation codes) worked.
i might be doing something stupid here so a little detailed guidance would be appreciated. tahnks

now i dont know if im the odd case here, but i did not have to follow any installation procedures, all i did was unpack, and expecting to find ISO. file i just found the whole game, i used a crack i found and started playing. worked like a charm! another odd thing though, i got crashes when i put video settings on render : directX11, (solved that by going for 9 instead). i am having trouble attaching DLC items to this particular version...

you have to launch it from your dragon age directory where you installed game

@Shiaken thanks so much. but still isnt working. it keeps asking for different .dll files. i kept downloading and pasting them and now its showing some strange message like @the procedure entry point _BinkGetFrameBuffersInfo@8 could not be lpcated in the dynamic link library binkw32.dll@ so ive given up

This is NOT A CLONEDVD!
it isn't even a disk image, much less a perfect copy including subchanel emulation. This is rars containing a directory which contains the installation files.
Sure you can burn it to a disk, and you can use it to install, and has no crack... but when someone says CLONEDVD I expect a perfect 1:1 clone copy of the DVD, not a pile of files... Should have just left it as an ISO.

it makes an error 2343 when using custom install. but if you want, you can do a standard installation, and then transfer the unrared folders into wherever you want them placed. the game will run just fine
