you'll have to download 1.5 patch for kingdoms though (the the gold version about 200mgs) the link in gamecopy world isn't working
then grab the total war 1.3 patch
then the kingdoms 1.5

Could you post links to the respective patches?
Having trouble finding the Gold Edition version och the Kingdoms 1.5 patch.
Clarification: To install the game, mount it with Daemon Tools (or similiar). A SecuROM message will pop up, never mind it. Open the mounted disc (you can find it on the Computer), you open it by right-clicking the icon and choosing open. When you're there, start up the setup and follow the install instructions.
This worked fine for me, but then I ran into trouble when starting the game due to cracks, but I'm trying out wwysiwyg's instructions.
Also, when prompted to type your CD-key, any series of numbers are accepted (e.g. 111111... until the "Next" will light up)

following Jollefjoll's instructions, I got as far as mounting the first image and getting the securom message. Then I tried to open the mdf file, but got an error message: error in command line. Is there someting that could be going wrong? Do i need a specific program to open it with?

I cannot get this to work with the 1.5 patch. I have tried everything at GCW: I have tried DT/Yasu with both the mini-image and regular disks, and I have tried all relevant cracks. The campaigns run but not the main campaign - I either get a securom error or a blank error message (Windows 7... windows gets better every time!)
Maybe it works with the 1.3 version but I don't care.

I have the same problem with Catna.
The expansion campaigns (brittania, teutons etc...) all work fine with the crack but i can't find a crack for the original game. Ive tried running it with the virtual disks from this torrent but the protection software detects it and stops me from playing. I've tried using a patch 1.3 crack for the original game but it does not work. I have also tried using my original (legitimate) disks but they also do not work.
If anyone can provide a crack for the original game at patch 1.5 or a way to remove the protection software i would be eternally grateful.

Hey guys... does the kingdoms exp. actually work with this one? I've dl'd many other copies, and the best I've found works great... till you try to install kingdoms, then there's all kinds of errors.
Any comments on whether everything's working or not would be much appreciated.

Works! Installing now, just get Alcohol 120% or PowerISO or something, then mount the disks, then go to Computer and right click on the disk image and click "Open". This Bypasses that retarded error message you get. Once in the Disk Image find "setup.exe" again RIGHT-CLICK IT!!!!!! and click "Open"... THEN THE INSTALLER POPS UP AND LO AND BEHOLD you just starteed installing the game. Oh and for the cd key just type anything till it says "Next" as Sega (or CA?) made it that way so if you lose your cd key you can still play, however you CANNOT play online *sadface :(*. ALSO!!!!!!!!!! High five If you got this to play the mod Westeros: Total War............ GAME OF THRONES FTW!!!! Hope this clears anything up and helps people! LOVE YOU LONG TIME ATIUSER kiss muah ;)

Don't run the kingdoms.exe, use the shortcuts the game has created for you, you will have no errors.

1. Download
2. Install. The DVD launcher will complain about daemon tools, simply launch setup.exe instead.
3. Type "111...." as serial until the "next" button is clickable.
4.The installer will bring up 5 sub-installations. The main game and 4 campaigns of the kingdoms addon. You will have to confirm each of them and switch DVD after the main game installed.
5. Install patch 1.5. I downloaded the UK gold version patch
6. Download fixed exe english 1.5 (kingdoms.exe) and 1.3(medieval2.exe) from GCW
7. you can't launch kingdoms.exe directly, use launcher.exe and then select if you want to play the main game or one of the 4 kingdoms campaigns.
The language is english only, as far as I can see.
