Jackie Speier (D-CA) calls in at 10:35am ET / 7:35am PT to talk about the BP Oil Spill and the primaries • New figures for the blown-out well at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico show the amount of oil spewing may have been up to twice as much as previously thought, according to scientists consulting with the federal government. That could mean 42 million gallons to more than 100 million gallons of oil have already fouled the Gulf’s fragile waters. • The Senate Thursday defeated 53-47 an effort to limit the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, and President Barack Obama said the vote was a reminder of the need to pass more comprehensive climate change legislation. • Dutch murder suspect Joran van der Sloot told police investigators that he knows the location of the body of missing U.S. teen Natalee Holloway, the chief of Peru’s criminal police said.
