Okay, I can confirm that this is actually Sims 3 and not Sim City 3000.
Yes, I triple-checked everything and no I have no personal vendetta against the uploader to ruin his reputation.
The keygen is also a virus. How can you be so stupid to upload a whole different game?

I can confirm that this is sim city 3000 and works fine on XP (setup is in setup->english->setup.exe)

I followed the instructions but I'm having trouble getting it to run on Windows 8. I changed the properties in SC3.exe to run on Windows XP - SP2 as well. When I run SC3.exe it freezes and when I push Ctrl+Alt+Del it shows the following error:
Exception Encountered
??? Unknown Exception
If someone knows how to remedy this please advise.

I "search engined" the problem and the web wasn't helpful. Perhaps I didn't follow the instructions well the first time.
How I got the game to work:
I changed the properties of the CRACKED version of SC3.exe to the following:
1. Run in Windows XP Service Pack 3
2. 8-bit (256) color mode
3. 640X480 screen resolution
4. Run program as administrator
Next, I opened Windows Explorer then went to:
Computer>OS (C:)>Program Files (x86)>Maxis>SimCity 3000>Game
I then DELETED the file SC3.exe and went back to where I originally extracted, and copied the CRACKED version of SC3.exe and pasted it into the above path.
Note: You may want to do the same thing again but using this path:
Computer> OS Menu>Programs>Maxis>SimCity 3000
I hope this helps some people.
