There's no such thing as dolby digital stereo surround (or ddss for that matter). However there's dolby stereo surround or dolby digital (which means there's 5 or 5+1 channels of discrete sound tracks). Stereo term means that theres only 2 discrete tracks, hence the name (duuh!).
