A tidal wave of hardcore images saturates the net, beyond the control of law enforcement, politicians or parents. Children and teens are consuming pornography in ever-greater numbers, and the industry has spawned an entire generation of cyber-sex addicts. The cameras journey to California’s “San Pornando” valley, where viewers meet old-guard porn king Larry Flynt in his penthouse perch, a cyber-porn mogul at his sprawling multi-million dollar ranch, a backstreet bondage superstar and a porn agent promoting his latest discovery. Porndemic: Sex in the Digital Age also explores the future of porn, including virtual online sex pioneered by a Vancouver company. The documentary also reveals an epidemic of porn addiction from teenage cell phone users to a British Columbia oil executive who belongs to the fastest growing self-help group in the world—Sex Addicts Anonymous. As one sex therapist concludes, “the Internet is the crack cocaine of porn.” Porndemic: Sex in the Digital Age is written, directed and produced by Robin Benger, produced in HD-TV by Christopher Sumpton and Robin Benger, edited by Greg Hopen, with music by Donald Quan.
