Just to clarify, this is the ISO image for the current version of TeX Live. It is suitable for most operating systems, and I classified it as "For Windows" only because there was no option for "All operating systems". TeX is the computer typesetting system created in 1978 by Professor Don Knuth, and TeX Live is the standard implementation.atv (2007-03-02)
teX is like a programming language. you have to teach your text how to looks like. It's the most powerfull tool for typewriting scientific essais. I used it in the early 80's on my ATARI 1040ST to write my Doctor...today it's quite obsolete but for professionnal typewriting of these kind of essais with lot's of math descriptions, nothing else concours.
