how is this so small? techtool pro is normally over a GIG

loadeddice (2009-02-03)

It's the size it is because it doesn't have a system to boot up included. Simply put it on an external hard drive that includes an operating system and start up from that. This thing works fine. Thanks for the upload.

Any word on how to get past the fact that it requires you to start up from the disk within thirty days? Am I going to have to reinstall it every thirty? Not a big hassle but it's the principle of it.

chuckasarus (2009-02-07)

Does anybody know how to uninstall techtool completely?

Have you tried AppTrap, I haven't so cannot comment. It is a small free program that seems to delete the application and associated files.
Details can be found here http://konstochvanligasaker.se/apptrap/

You would have to run the installer for TechTool 4 or below. Except, you need to change the mode from "Easy Install" to "Uninstall"

Unfortunately this will not work on any of the new aluminum macbookpro......at first i thought maybe i could just upgrade from TTP4.6.2 but the same result w/ TTP5.0.1 you cannot boot-up from the disk or create an edrive making this a bit useless i guess if you need to defrag -- my drive is about 54% fragmented : (
you can still run the program just not boot from the disk that you burn......disk warrior is also affected(or at least the version i got) i dont really know if they updated yet to work

addyj (2009-08-09)

worls nice!
but can I update?

jebec3 (2010-02-06)

Just to let you know, this works perfectly but you must be familiar with Techtool to understand how to use it.
There is no OS to start up from with this torrent. however if you install this on an external HD that has a clone of your startup disc and then startup from that you will be able to defrag and create an edrive on your computers startup disc.
I have installed this and used it with complete success on Snow Leopard. Thank You chuckie6 for the torrent. A+
