OK after randomly clicking buttons on the computer during the black screen figured out that I'm at the main menu but with no visuals. After random clicking (again) I figured how the menu is set up and clicked new game (lucky me) then when I started the visuals and effects went insane! flickering and blotches every where, and I can almost see. So I think it might be my VRAM or just my plain RAM, but not sure. Any advice?

but seriusly, wtf! i follow the instructions, click the Darkmess.Exe. then get that music and the stupid animations. at the end when it says press ESC too exit i do that, and then click deskop icon too start. For me it does the black screen. I can simply hit alt+ctrl+delete and then close TM, after that the menu shows up fine. The same goes for the gameplay when I start a new game there are either white boxes and black ones and or checkered pattern, and then the same method works to resolve that also.

When i open the tool "DarkMess" shall i have that running when i open the game on desktop shortcut? I have done exactly as it says. Even installed it C:Program/Dark Messiah....
Becus i come to the menu and i can choose to load previous games or start new game. But the game just closes after half loading.

Blank main menu for me too. Vista 32 bit. Tried to install official 1.2 patch, it said game not found. Tried gcw's 1.2 nodvd, same black main menu. I deleted everything in a huff... probably shouldn't have given up that easily. All I'm sure of is I followed the included directions and got no main menu on vista 32 bit.

Each verssion of this fucking game, downloaded from here, produces the shaderapidx9.dll error. It does not even go to any menu or so.
I've found that on the net:

Start the DCOM Server Process Launcher Service
Please ensure that the DCOM Server Process Launcher service is started to correct this crash condition.
Go to the Start button and select Run...
Enter services.msc and click OK
Locate the DCOM Server Process Launcher Service and right click on it to select its Properties
In the Startup type: drop-down menu ensure that Automatic is selected
Click Apply and then OK to save any changes

but it does not work because I've already have Dcom server running.
So stop your fucking lies that it works for you.
