i have to say, i have got lost with all the various threads! I've downloaded the 'russian' small exe and have the demo.
when i put it in the install file it tries to crack the FM.exe but says 'file size/version mismatch'

After patching it, the cracks supplied on The Pirate Bay (or a hand made one) work just fine. But ... The game will have some shortcomings due to it not being activated. You will have to wait for a keygen or buy it yourself to be able to use all the options. Indeed you will miss certain options.

yes, here's what i did -
1) had the strawberry demo
2)put the 9.01 patch in the demo install file
3)ran the patch
4)put the russian patch in the install file
5)ran that, it will say 'patched' once done
6)ran the game
On the start up screen instead of 'new demo game' you'll have a nike football saying 'new game'
i haven't played yet, will do now, but surely this must be it!

Well I can't say for sure, but I suspect that the Demo lacks some stuff that the Full version has, and that the patch won't solve. Like weird bugs and such.
So just to be on the safe side I'd rather try this with the "full" version.
I could be wrong though.

i can tell you guys im downloading this version because with strawberry demo you CANNOT play fm09, you can start new game, but when you want to reply to season expecations news nothing happens, and when you click on continue its going out to windows, so if this torrent will be a full working version, then ill be very grateful to the uploader, cheers, and as i said dont even try trick with demo or youll be very upset

Aplied "Russian Crack" (17 KB exe file)
Run the game!

SI and SEGA screwed this up really bad.
FM2009 has a very loyal fanbase which did not deserve this and are in their right to complain. Just go to the SI community board to see the chaos. Potential new buyers are getting the rough end of a pineapple really, a lot of people can't even activate.
Haven't they learnt anything from Spore and EA? I expect this to be cracked and scene-released by Monday at most.
This will be followed by a couple of 'patches' that will be eventually cracked anyway.

Hm... I think it`s not a game bug... maybe some problems with files? Did you try to run it in compatibility with Windows NT or smth like that? If Vista, maybe problem with admin rights?

lay off aalv. he was asked to upload just the iso off his friends disk so a cracker could have a go at getting past the dvd activation process. hence why he says you wont be able to activate it anytime soon. it just so happened a russian crack came along the same time..it was applied and wa-la it worked.

But dont delete the translator
go delete the unistall fm09 demo and it should work

Someone pls help, had this installed and working like a dream on xp. Now i have Vista ULTIMATE, i keep getting two errors popping up during installation:
1: Some errors occured whilst installing plaese refer to install log. This happens during the actual game installation process and
2: When using the crack it says it can't find the file fm.exe.
Really beginning to do my head in, i'm sure it must be something rather obvious i'm missing but can't quite seem to put my finger on it!

The game is installing without errors, i patch it successfully but then the crack cant find fm.exe

zhmm you have to unchecj the hiddens files box in c:/ folder under the view tab in order for it to work correctly. Worked that out since last post.
