I cant comment on the content of the episode as I missed it and im only starting my download there now.. but if you take any 30 minute tv show and strip out the commercials its only 22 minutes

If you look at the office Wikipedia page, it explains what is going on with the extended episodes. Here's what it says:
"NBC ordered a full fourth season[36] consisting of 30 half-hour segments, 10 of which were combined to form five one-hour episodes (aired at the beginning of the season), creating 25 episodes overall. After eight episodes were filmed, production was suspended due to the 2007?2008 writers' strike, in which not only the writers but Carell refused to cross the picket line.[37] At the time of the strike, the writers had one episode written and ready for filming and another script nearly ready for shooting. With the strike ending, the first episode up will be the episode that was nearly ready. The completed script was the Christmas episode and will not be filmed.
New post-strike episodes began airing April 10. The season will end as originally scheduled with six or seven new episodes, resulting in a shortened season of 14 or 15 total episodes.[38]"
I think the whole deal with the shortened season is bullshit, but I have no beef with the new episode.
