FYI, there should be two disks. If you are able to install it, great. In order to finish patching the game, allow the patch to FULLY download, then exit the game, the patcher will automatically start once you EXIT the game entirely, as itll pop up in your corner screen.

XWIS/Strike-Team has a good serial protection. Or, your serial is banned, or it's invalid.. I think that they are having a connection with the EA Serial system via CommunityTeam... you may ask it lol..
But, the First Decade had serial problems with XWIS, but not at renegade. I've heard that they are fixing it, but atm. it's disabled. Don't know what server it is.

For those asking about online play, you can play online, just not via the Westwood servers (XWIS) You'll have to download GameSpy Arcade (Google it...) GSA doesn't check your serial, so as long as the serial is working, and your install was cool, you can play online via GSA.

I just installed Command & Conquer Renegade, but whenever I try to skip the intro in the beginning it crashes my computer. So I have to watch the entire intro. Plus, if I try to minimize it or create a Westwood Online account, it also crashes my computer. When I say crash my computer, I don\'t mean the game stops working, now, I mean it freezes my entire comp and I can\'t even access the task manager or anything. Anyone know what could be wrong and/or how to fix it?

After installing Renegade, applying 1037 patch, and then overwriting original game.exe with the included one (no-cd crack).. download and install 'Renegade Resurrection' server-browser client:

This, and methods to play online may change in the future as it has done repeatedly past years I think..
Without a valid serial, those from keygen are all banned for cheating in most servers.
You can still join a few good servers with Renegade Resurrection, which are still cheat-free and top servers, such as the server named "RenCorner Marathon", which right now has 34 of a maximum of 50 players currently playing!
if it doesnt work, u probably did something wrong, or method has changed.. in latter case, Google is your friend. All else fails, try nag some of the friendly experts over at http://www.renegadeforums.com/ or similar communities. If they dont know they should atleast be able to put you on your way.
New upcoming Renegade X Multiplayer (to be released some time in 2013 according to website-)

Renegade X which I think is based on new Unreal Engine with much improved, seems to hold great promise and will hopefully satisfy old and immerse new players into the Renegade universe. It looks amazingly good, and seems to be getting better all the time, so keep watching that site for updates!
Otherwise there will probably be classic Renegade Multiplayer for another decade, maybe more, as it seems people are finding new ways to play online when previous disappear..
so if you can't find your way in when reading this, for some reason.. keep looking.. Google, Forums etc..
If you find new or better way, please help others when possible too and spread info!

To install the game, you first need to "mount" the .img-file with a program such as "Daemon Tools Lite" ( ).
It will then add a new virtual cd-drive that you can find in "My Computer", that will appear as if you put in a physical CD.
Without a "no-cd crack", using programs like "Daemon Tools Lite" is useful for things such as using programs/games without actually having the physical CD inserted.
But in this torrent a "no-cd crack" is already included so it's not necessary to use "Daemon Tools Lite" every time to play.
When you have installed Renegade, and afterwards installed the included 1037 patch, use copy over and replace game.exe from the torrent's folder into the game folder (which by default is something like C:WestwoodRenegade)
To play online multiplayer after that, I suggest using the server-browser "Renegade Resurrection" and joining the "RenCorner Marathon" server. This method to play online may change at a later time tho, but Google will help.
