Be aware this is the RTC 3 Retail multi version, updates are only compatible with this version.

i got a problem. i'm sure it's nothing to do with ur torrent as i have downloaded another one with the same error "unable to create direct3d device" not sure what that means... any info is appreciated.
i loved the set up instructions btw... very helpful, just wish i could get the game to load. i am running xp

Hi Nohumor, this is due to your graphic card, or a potential DirectX problem.
Anyway, update your driver and download the last directx. Restart you computer.
Then run DxDiag.exe, by clicking on the Windows Start Button, selecting Run and entering "Dxdiag" in the open box.
Now click on the Display tab. In the centre of the screen there is a section called DirectX features. Below there, you should have Direct3D and Direct Draw 'Acceleration Enabled'. If it says 'Acceleration Disabled' click on the button called Enable. If it says No Acceleration Available, then go to Control Panel - System - Performance and make sure that 'Hardware Acceleration' is set to full. Then restart your PC and run DxDiag again and check that both Direct Draw and Direct 3D say 'Acceleration Enabled'.
If this no work, then your graphic card is not supported, sorry.

ok, i ran the setup fine , but when i tried Install RTC3_RETAIL_UPDATE1_USA it said neither command line parameter specified is an existing directory, any ideas?
