Il surrogato di un agente di polizia (Bruce Willis), durante un inseguimento con un umano che ha in mano un'arma molto pericolosa, viene distrutto. Appena distrutto il surrogato l'agente si sveglia dalla poltrona di isolamento e sviene cadendo al suolo. L'agente si risveglia in ospedale e si rende conto della vita che stanno facendo gli umani, così si reca a casa del creatore dei surrogati che cerca di salvare l'umanità uccidendo tutti.
