50 Years of Rock - 1000 Songs

50 yrs of Rock - 1000 songs This is quite possibly the best Rock torrent ever. Yes, that's right, I said it. Stop laughing. By all means up a better one for us to enjoy. There's stuff from as far back as the mid 50s and all the way up to now (2008). There's Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Light Rock, Hair Bands, Grunge, Angry Chick Rock, Modern Rock... you name it, it's probably represented. It ranges from soft stuff like Simon & Garfunkle to Hard stuff like Metallica. What isn't there is stuff that shouldn't be... there's no R&B, no Funk, no Country, no Rap, etc. I mention this since I've seen this in other "Rock" torrents with songs from those genres in them. Not here. It's collected from my own collections and various other best of/greatest rock torrents, all scrutinized by none other than me! :-D I'm from the USA, so there's not going to be a bunch of Euro rock (sorry guys) as there's already plenty of those torrents out there filled with music I've never heard of. This torrent is for folks looking for an alternative to that. All songs normalized to the same volume (93 Db). All are 192kbps mp3 format (some vbr) with the exception of 46 files @160kbps and 2 @128kbps Feel free to critique, I'm always looking for more good music. Whittling it down to 1000 songs is not easy though, alot of good stuff was left out. btw - I uploaded a 645 song, rock torrent recently and immediately decided that it wasn't good enough. So, this has all of those songs (higher bitrates re-encoded to 192 for this torrent) plus another 355 additions. Apologies to anyone who already got that one. This one is much better! nice work. Compared to other top 500 and 1000 downloads much better and consistent audio quality though you can still tell there's compression at 192kbps, it's much better then any streaming radio or satellite service! And it's by far the best collection of songs I've found so far. I'd buy a collection like this for 50 cents a song of it was offered by a major record label in 320kbps MP3 format or better quality.
I downloaded it, well, because it's easier to have a big collection of great songs whose name I can't remember in one set then to try to remember them individually.

Great collection, I would really love to download the extra songs that didn't make it, but you thought should be there, perhaps you could upload them as a separate download.
I really don't think a collection of this sort should be limited to an arbitrary number like 1000 songs. Put in all the great songs, and just call it 50 years of Rock - Ultimate Collection.
