Red Dwarf is a British comedy franchise which primarily comprises eight series of a television science fiction sitcom that aired on BBC Two between 1988 and 1999 and Dave from 2009–present. It gained cult following. It was created by Rob Grant and Doug Naylor, who also wrote the first six series. The show originated from a recurring sketch, Dave Hollins: Space Cadet part of the mid-1980s BBC Radio 4 comedy show Son of Cliché, also scripted by Grant and Naylor. In addition to the television episodes, there are four bestselling novels, two pilot episodes for an American version of the show, a radio version produced for BBC radio 7, tie-in books, magazines and other merchandise. In 2008, a three-episode production was commissioned by the digital channel Dave. These episodes were screened in April 2009 during the Easter weekend and comprised a three-part story titled Red Dwarf: Back to Earth. Unlike the majority of the original BBC episodes, this mini-series was a comedy drama filmed without a studio audience or an added laugh track. Despite the pastiche of science fiction used as a backdrop, Red Dwarf is primarily a character-driven comedy, with off-the-wall, often scatological science fiction elements used as complementary plot devices. In the early episodes, a recurring source of comedy was the \"Odd Couple\"-style relationship between the two central characters of the show, who have an intense dislike for each other and are trapped together deep in space. The main characters are Dave Lister, the last known human alive, and Arnold Rimmer, a hologram of Lister\'s dead bunkmate. The other regular characters are Cat, a lifeform that evolved from the descendants of Lister\'s pregnant pet cat, Frankenstein; Holly, Red Dwarf\'s computer; as of Series III, Kryten, a service mechanoid; and, as of Series VII, Kristine Kochanski, an alternative-reality version of Lister\'s long-lost love. One of the series\' highest accolades came in 1994, when an episode from the sixth series, \"Gunmen of the Apocalypse\", won an International Emmy Award in the Popular Arts category, and in the same year the series was also awarded \"Best BBC Comedy Series\" at the British Comedy Awards. 2 Different PCs, latest CCCP on each and playing through WMP 12. Options in WMP are set to commentary off, makes no difference.

I am a very novice torrent user, but what I have discovered is this:
if other users say "thanks" AND the provider has a 'skull' icon - then the ONLY reason a download doesn't work for me is because of my own error. To which I go out to "GOOGLE" and type in my boolean logic request & EVERY time have gotten the answer as to how to fix the problem.
Download issues: Lack of seeders aside (and I have gotten good speeds from as few as 1, %100, seeder) - if you have ever gotten just ONE good download from PB via your torrent software, then a bad download connection is probably from your system. I have discovered that getting my 'download speed" to increase can be achieved by simply shutting down my system, reseting the internet connection modem & powering back up.
And for you people that complain about pop up ads - there are scores of places (and even FREE adblocker S/W downloads) to learn how to avoid them.
A great place to start is to subscribe to a VPN provider such as HideMyAss.
In regard to video player issues - take time to read the "help.txt" guides... Oh and screw WMP - VLC media player (also a free download everywhere)
So quit bitching and start thanking - because without guys like Toilet_sniffer_V "problems" like "I can't make the commentary go away" will go away.....

hey Toilet_sniffer_V you are awesome and truly brilliant , ive downloaded just about every torrent youve posted and they are always tops , ignore all these ignorantly moronic noobs and just keep doing what you do because you are probably the most reliable uploader ive come across, if these people would read comments and maybe check your other torrents comments before downloading then they would learn that windows media player and windows media player classic truly suck, they dont have the proper codecs installed and installing a third party codec pack can screw up your system and that they need to install VLC media player its free and requires no extra codecs to play nearly anything put out today or in the past, so in closing Toilet_sniffer_V keep up the awesome work and ignore the haters, oh and by the way im from the USA and still love and cant get enough of RED DWARF so thx..........later

People who can not figure out how to switch audio tracks on playback should probably stick to buying DVDs instead of downloading and complaining.
But here is some education for the complainers - get VLC player. If it really bothers you that a file has two audio tracks then get virtual dub and remux the files. If you still have a complaint then go buy the dvd and stop ragging on someone for being nice and sharing their rips with you.

I do not normally have problems downloading torrents, especially like this one, with so many seeders. I've been caning this for a 2 days. Looking at the files downloaded so far (1.4GB), I see the only files being shared in this torrent are extras and adverts. Possibly characteristic of an anti-p2p operation(?). Maybe someone bad has got Toilet_sniffer_v's his password ;-) A few hours ago I started a much better Red Dwarf torrent for s01-s08 (obtained from H33t) that overtook this one. This torrent and data: deleted. Toilet_sniffer_V noted. Byeeeee!

I'm curious if some of the episodes are missing commentary by accident, or if they just don't have commentary. For example, S5E06 Back to Reality has no commentary track. While every other season 1-6, there are commentaries for every episode.
Also, Series 1 all the episodes have 3 audio tracks, but only episode 1 (The End) actually uses them. That episode has Ed Bye/Doug Naylor and Rob Grant commentary. And the whole cast. The remaining episodes of that season only have cast commentary, and track 3 has no commentary.
Just curious if this is how the DVD's are, or if they are not all ripped fully / correctly.

I'm currently on Series (not Season, it's not a US TV show) 7, and I think there is a discrepancy in some episodes. For example, S07E01 is 37m long, there's no laugh track, S07E02 is correct (broadcast) length, and has laugh track, S07E03 is longer again, and has no laugh track. Commentary tracks are OK and series 1-6 has been fine also.
Can someone else check it and see if they see the same thing? Thanks.
