Volvo RTI Navigation DVD Europe 2008 Made Week 20 This is the Disk 3 of the RTI Navigation DVD software from Volvo This one includes the Maps of theses countrys: Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Norway, Poland, San Marino, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City This DVD will also update your Unit software so every time you start your car you'll have to press Enter to get rid of the annoying startup warning text :( This one is ripped and tested using the software Imgburn and it's fully working I've burned it at 2,4x speed on a crappy DL DVD that my burner even can't find the media code :) But it's working perfectly, no difference from the original DVD. Have fun !

In my car there come a text: "Cd error. Check cd.."

Nessen82: There can be a problem with your dvd reader in the car, some cars with the rti system got dvd-readers that wont read burned disks...
Had the same problem with my v70 -04 downloaded the rti 07 v20 and burned 5 different dvds and no one worked, so i'm gonna try this one when it's downloaded and if it's not working, it's of to volvo and order a new dvd-reader for 1900 sek....

Nessen82: Ok I have now burned and tried this new one and it still don't work for me. I've read in a couple of forums and it seems to be the dvd reader and volvo have an exchange service for this or you can turn it in at megalans in gothenburg if you live there like i do. same place that volvo sends their old rti an stereo equipment for repair...

To you all with reader problems. This torrent is fully functional, I will thank cyberscream for this excellent upload.
I couldnt make the earlier torrent work with my reader in Volvo V70 my 2004, and only thing was to make a dvd reader exchange. After that everything worked fine. It is not a repair of the old reader, its a swap or exchange whatever you call it. Don't try to burn new dvd's after dvds, its a reader problem. Volvo take no responsibility in this situation, they don't care. Cars in 2005 and newer doesn't have this problem.

When i loaded this in my DVD it had only about 8 countries, sweden excluded.
Could it be that the description is mixed up between this and disc 2, that is usually used for the Sweden?

I burnt this as usual.
It seems to work fine, it loads and the new warningtext is there.
My problem is that Sweden is not included , only Italy, Luxemburg, Switzerland, and a couple more.
But not Sweden..
Any ideas?

I don't have a clue re your dvd. I made a check on my dvd in my car, I have sweden included, and can make a simple destination in sweden from my adress in Denmark.

Are you sure you use the right dvd's. It certainly has to be the Dual- layer dvd's with 8,5 gb content. I use Verbatim 2,4 DVD+R DL. They work every time. Burn them with DVD DEcrypter, rememer the booktype ROM.
Im not sure a new download will help to solute your problem.

Try to read the size of your downloaded file. It has to be an iso file size 6,37 gb. And a mds file size 8,22 kb.

Does anybody Kown if the new Volvo RTI releases are the same all over the Europe? I live in Italy and I don't want to have problem with the navi firmware updating the system.
Another question: why this new 2008 release is smaller than the 2007 or 2006 one? Volvo mentioned they increase total KMs included, POIs and bla bla bla, but the bytes of the 2008 dvd have been reduced.
Any ideas?

Volvo might have been filling their dvd's with lots of unuseful stuff earlier, but now they still have all what needed. With a total filling of 6,4 gb you still need a dual layer dvd to burn the dvd.
Just my guess, other navi system needs only 2 gb cards to manage all europe and still have tmc system included. Take that volvo cars.

And what about the system: any problem updating your navi? Where did u buy the car?

I have no idea about the different navi systems all over europe. My car is fromt germany, dvd reader changed here in Denmark. Yes, I think the working dvd-readers can be the same.
To enter this clone will not destroy your future possibilities with the navi system. If your car is a model year 2004 or earlier, and the dvd reader hasn't been changed, expect it not to be able to read this or other copiers from 2005 and forward. Only dvds from 2003 like the one for all europe working in those early dvd readers in volvos - both in s60 v70 s80 xc70 xc90 and others I forget to mention.

So, there's nothing left for me to do but try this dvd. My Volvo is a v70, model 2006. I've already made a copy (just for fun) of the original dvd provided with the car, and the reader has no problem to read it.
Again, many thanks for your opinion: it helps me to find the right decision!

Good that this torrent helped some ppl, I mean .. to pay 2500SEK twice a year to keep the maps updated is a rape in the middle of the day.

I have used the discs during my vacation in Europe, and they worked up to 99%
Bugs I noticed:
In France, when the RDS info was updated, the system often rebooted, since it could not handle the change.
In Italy, on the way from Lago Di Garda to the Bernina Pass, passing Leccio and Sondrio, the RTI said "turn left", where the was no left turn available. (don´t remember the road number)
Disc 3, with the nordic countries is not working properly. When trying to select place in Denmark, I got "Aut" for city and the same for street. Trying to change resulted in reboot.
Switching from disc 2 to disc 3, on my return trip, resulted in "system hang" since the last address selected was in Germany, and the system was not able to search for new countries and streets. However, selecting a point on the map, as a destination, worked ok.
I don´t know if this is due to the burning process or not. To me, it seems like some index file or something is missing. I´m going to compare with 2007 version, that works 100% later on.

Sverige fungerar också hos mig, så länge jag inte börjar byta skivor. Prova att välja ett resmål i Danmark, och se om det fungerar. Jag skulle låta den navigera till Rödby-färjan.
Vad gäller varningstexten, så tror jag att den är numera obligatorisk.

The RAR-file is a compressed file, similar as ZIP-file.
Unpack it, and you will get a ISO Image to burn on the disc.

All these discs (1, 2 and 3) work fine on my V70 MY2002 (but DVD reader has been changed in 2007; cost: +/- 500 ?).
These discs upgrade the software of the unit. None of the errors I noticed with the previous version has been corrected though: on several occasions what is shown on the screen is different from what the system tells you to do (f.i. the screen shows you a right turn but you are told to take a left turn (it's the screen that is always right); on several occasions, under a tunnel, the system all of a sudden thinks your car is on the street ABOVE the tunel; etc.)
As a result of the software upgrade a message now appears on the screen advising you to take the necessary care when driving. This message appears the first time you start the RTI system after having started your car. It's not annoying to have to push the enter button to make the message go away.
