Good movie. Great action, Great Quality. You could read 1984 and then Fahrenheit 451 after you have seen the Matrix. It would be the same thing. I would still recommend this movie.

Christian Bale was for a long time a very "under the radar" kind of actor, even though yeah, he did have a very, VERY Prolific career as a child, he dropped out of the spotlight on purpose to live a normal life, and when he felt the time was right made the decision to return to film & acting and slowly built himself up as a star again. It wasn't until "Equilibrium" and "Batman Begins" did people begin to take notice and remember whom he was. Better than the Matrix Trilogy by FAR.

I'm with PhreshOne: Technically this is excellent. I like a fast dl:-)
Equilibrium is compelling in a few scenes.
Largely it uses populist anti-authority /anti-pharm themes to sell obedience thru violence. The plot is cardboard, characters are props for telegraphing hysterical, color-coded cliches.
For the feel-good ending from absolutely nowhere, a swarthy, rioting crowd suddenly arrives- implying another cliche: that anarchy and facial hair lead to destruction, not compassion, or even understanding.

Audio and video are fair. Don't expect HD video, but at least the audio and video are in sync, which is the most important thing for me.
So yeah, Equilibrium was great. A set up with imagery and music to match what we think of when we hear about the USSR or Nazi Germany. Then we see how humans aren't made to be Vulcans as, with evidence in the real world, lack of emotion tied with certain environmental ques cause people to become sociopaths. Though, in a world with no emotion, would we have ambition? I also felt genuinely sad when the dogs died, and when he was going through his wife's belongings. Then happy when it showed the kids off the medicine. Action scenes were fun, though at times a bit corny. Yeah, I can certainly say I enjoyed the film.
Reminded me in a small way of Logan's Run, where living past the age of 30 was illegal, but otherwise it became a utopian society. Came with the commentary to question everything, and that some will reject reality if taught a lie.
It reminded me of it mostly I guess because it showed people coming into terms with a different reality, after hunting down those people that came to terms with said reality earlier.
