1-Unrar The Witcher_v1.2 using winrar. 2-mount the iso image useing daemon tools lite,or burn to Disk. 3-Double click the witcher 1.2 patch, it will automatically install in the witcher destination folder (c:/program files/The Witcher) 4-double click the TWCF icon (censorship patch),it will automaticaly locate and install in The Witcher folder destination(C:/program files/The Witcher)to leave out nudity,skip this step. 5-Go to C:/program files/The Witcher/system folder, drag and drop the Witcher icon(the wolf medallion,NOT the one in the back up exe folder)in the system folder, copy and replace.Update the desktop short cut. Ive included a back up exe(the original exe.in the system folder)for the 1.3 patch when its cracked,the 1.3 patch should work with this copy of the game, for it is a direct rip.Enjoy. btw, for vista users. once u have the game installed including the patches and the no-cd crack, right click on the witcher icon in the system folder,goto properties,compatibility,then check off the box at the bottem(run this program as administrator)apply, then ok and then ur on your way,happy hunting!!

Ok, i've downloaded the game and followed the steps but got stuck on step 5. To where should i drag and drop the Wolf medallion? from the system folder TO the system folder?And to where should i copy and replace it? I dont get step 5 at all, would appreciate some clarification on the matter.

I have two exe. files in the witcher torrent, theres one in a folder all alone and one thats along side with the patches, iso. The one thats in the folder is just incase you need the original exe. The one thats in the open with the iso and patches is the one you drop in the system folder after install. copy and replace. Hope that helps.

GOOD NEWS PEOPLE!!
THERE IS NO NEED TO INSTALL DAEMONS TOOLS TO PLAY THE WITCHER TO GET AROUND THE TAGES PROTECTION SYSTEM.
The story goes like this I've played about a quarter of the way through The Witcher on an older computer using Daemon Tools Advanced and decided it was time to get a more powerful games system.
The problem was my new computer (probably the OEM installed drivers) refuses to play with the latest DTA. My system hangs when it is installed (the STPD problem) and I can't even get to the desktop unless I uninstall DTA in safemode.
Woe me ...woe me I will never get to finish the Witcher. Damn, and it was good too. I tried everything to try and get DTA to work but to no avail (and I know my situation is not unique- just google Daemon tools+system hangs, among other problems). Soon the Witcher was becoming a distant memory...a happy memory.
That was until I updated my copy of UltraISO to "UltraISO Premium Edition version 9.3.0.2600". I know for a fact that my older 9.1 version could not play it in its one virtual drive (I think it was more designed for playing DVD.iso's than getting around games protections).
I was able to install The Witcher to my hard drive (load the .iso into the virtual drive and press the magnifying glass symbol by the side to autoplay The Witcher.iso). I then updated it to v1.2 patch and replaced the witcher.exe with a no-cd crack.
I have no idea why it was able to work as UltraISO is not a dedicated games .iso emulator like DTA. BUT IT WORKS...DAMN IT...IT WORKS.
No more DTA for me. In contrast UltraISO is non-invasive on your system and I've had no incompatibility problems or issues with it at all.
NOTE: I'm not sure if Witcher.mdf format works with this program so play it safe and use a rip that is a Witcher.iso. I downloaded this copy of UltraISO with a serial no. You can get it anywhere on the web: most torrents.
I won't divulge the exact site simply because there are some silly fuckers out there who think it's a great idea to start forum threads with good sites names posted all over it. Over exposing good non-torrent sites and getting them shut down in the process.

umm well after several weeks of downloading i finally have this game, and ive downloaded i think like 3 or 4 versions but none ever worked. I got stuck already on the 3rd step. When i try to install the patch it says after awhile int he Installation Wizard, " Could not be installed, could not be patched" or something in that direction. WTF should i do, help? Anyone????

to everyone else, this works perfectly, trust me it's worth the wait (took me almost a week of download).
For those confused by the last part of the directions, the witcher icon kahoz is referring to is the one in the original witcher folder, the one you get when you unrar the download file.
[it will be next to the 1.2 patch, the twcf patch, the iso folder, and the backup .exe folder]
mount or burn the iso. I used daemon tools lite. This is freeware. Google it, download it, install it, and use it to mount the iso in The Witcher ISO folder. DO NOT UNRAR THIS ISO, JUST MOUNT/BURN IT.
Once you have mounted/burned the bitch, install it. This will create a Witcher folder in your computer's program files. Open this folder, then open the folder titled "System."
paste the original witcher icon here. It will notify you that there is already an icon with the same name [this is the one that you are replacing], and it will ask you if you want to replace it.
Click "copy and replace."
You may now play the game.
For those of you getting the "Insert Original DVD" error, this step 5 will correct that.

btw, if u DONT wanna install this game onto C Drive and into program files since u are low on spack on C Drive, u can install this game in any drive u want.
1.) mount the ISO using daemon tools
2.) install the game using the custom installation (if u wanna install in a drive other than c drive)
3.) specify the new drive in wichy u wanna install this game (i installed it in x:/games/the witcher)
4.) After installation, run the 1.2 Witcher Patch, and it will automatically patch the game (where ever u hv installed it)
5.) Copy the witcher (wolf icon) from the unRARed folder and paste this into the system folder of witcher game (the place where u hv installed the game)
6.) run the game w'out any problems at all.. :)
