Resident Evil: Degeneration é a 1ª longa-metragem da série Resident Evil, resultado de uma parceria entre a Sony Entertainment e a Capcom. Todo feito em computação gráfica, Degeneration traz Leon e Claire, a dupla de protagonistas de Resident Evil 2, em uma trama consistente com a cronologia dos jogos. Ao contrário do que ocorre no jogo, em que cada um dos personagens segue por um caminho, no filme os dois trabalharão em equipe. Claire, assim como o irmão, está envolvida com a causa anti-bioterrorista, associada à ONG Terra Save.Ela é surpreendida por um ataque bioterrorista no aeroporto de Harvardville, onde desembarca após uma viagem de trabalho, e tudo parece iniciar-se com alguns passageiros de um vôo comercial que começam a apresentar sintomas estranhos durante a viagem. Em poucas horas, o aeroporto é tomado pelo vírus, transformando boa parte dos que ali estavam em zombies. A situação se torna caótica e forças especiais precisam atuar para conter a ameaça. O SRT (Special Response Team), comandado por Angela Miller e Leon S. Kennedy,é recrutado, e os heróis não são surpreendidos apenas por zombies, mas também por uma criatura maior e bastante assustadora. Após o aparente fim da empresa farmacêutica Umbrella, quem estará por trás do incidente? The SRT (Special Response Team), led by Angela Miller and Leon S. Kennedy, is recruited, and the heroes are not only surprised by zombies, but also by a larger creature and quite frightening.
