Crooks & Straights

"Crooks & Straights" country band from Rijeka, Croatia, were formed in October 1999. After a number of gigs both in Croatia and abroad, the band had their recording debut at the international scene, on "International Country Music Sampler" CD, in October 2002, released by "Comstock Records", an independent label from Fountain Hills, Arizona, USA. That way, they became the first act from Croatia whose recorded material has been published, promoted and distributed by an American label. "Crooks & Straights" have achieved their greatest success so far at the 23rd European country music contest, "Picnic Country - Europa Contest" which was held in Mrągowo, Poland, from July 23 to 25, 2004. In the competition of bands from all over Europe, they won the first prize and thereby, officially or unofficially, carried the title of the best European country band for the 2004/05 season. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Country grupa "Crooks & Straights" iz Rijeke je utemeljena u listopadu 1999. godine. Nakon određenog broja nastupa u Hrvatskoj i inozemstvu, grupa je debitirala s prvom snimkom na međunarodnoj sceni, na CD-u "International Country Music Sampler" u listopadu 2002. godine, u izdanju neovisne diskografske kuće "Comstock Records" iz Fountain Hillsa, Arizona, SAD. Time je postala prvi izvođač iz Hrvatske čiji materijal izdaje, promovira i distribuira jedna američka diskografska kuća. "Crooks & Straights" su svoj najveći dosadašnji uspjeh postigli na 23. europskom natjecanju country glazbe, "Picnic Country - Europa Contest" održanom u Mrągowu u Poljskoj od 23. do 25. srpnja 2004. godine. U konkurenciji country grupa iz čitave Europe su osvojili prvo mjesto te tako, službeno ili neslužbeno, postali najbolji europski country sastav za sezonu 2004./05.
