Downloaded it in about 20 minutes, installed perfectly, crack works, no errors or problems.
If you're having a problem you should reinstall and make sure you used the crack correctly.

My McAfee sees the cracked catan.exe file as a generic!artemis trojan virus. any comments on that?

Vista = Instantly stops working. Reinstalled, recopied over the catan.exe, still doesn't work. Will try in Ubuntu/Wine next.

Installed it on Vista. Worked fine with no issues. Rebooted the computer and it no longer works. I get the same error as mentioned above.
Tried to reinstall with no luck.

Plays fine, but gives an error when I try to save my game. Compatibility mode doesn't help. Anyway, the AI in this game is annoying. Enemies won't trade with you even if you offer way more than what you ask for, but they will accept the same offer from each other. In essence, they are all teaming up against you.

My friend brought over the board game few months back. Him, myself, and my siblings had a blast playing it! I was hoping to find a free-to-play version online, but no such luck. After finding this, however, I'm just glad to be playing it during my free time.
Note: For those who have the "save" issue, the game is looking for a specific folder to save the file to: "X:ProgramDataMicrosoftMSN GamesCatan" Hope this helps.

You can play the java game for free at playcatan.com (base version 3-4 players). I came here looking for a LAN version of the game but I don't think there is one. oh well.
