does someone mind explaining where and what FLAC files are used and good for..... i know they are usually of high quality but im not sure why people want FLAC files rather than regular MP4s

@vellaaa69 FLAC format is lossless. This means there is no decrease in quality from the original file on disc. Regular MP3s always have some sort of lowered quality, even if it is a 320kbp. Downloading FLAC files of audio recordings allows for the listener to do what they wish with the file and know that it of best possible quality for an audio file. Hope that helps!
