The Pretenders

The Pretenders came as a post punk band with a good old rock sound but with a twist, a female front person, Chrissie Hynde. Their non compromising rock music and slightly feminist lyrics gave this band a huge success all over the world with their songs unfortunately its another band that still hasnt got all the credits they deserved. Loads and loads of people have heard their songs but dont know them. Still they will forever be remembered as one of the greatest rock bands in history. All five songs are released on Pretenders II or Pirate Radio Boxset.

and to me she is rock'n'roll incarnate!

The vinyl rip of Pretenders II is awesome ("Waste Not, Want Not" sounds great)...except for "Louie Louie", which cuts off with about five, ten seconds to go.
