Why oh why oh why oh why use this silly format! It won't play on the vast majority of standalone players. What is wrong with avi/DivX?

mkv is actually a very good format, provided you have suitable software. Check out
A simpler solution would be to use VLC-player, but with that I faded colors. Using Zoom Player with cccp I no longer have trouble with subs or audio streams.

I downloaded the soviet program (cccp for those that aren't familiar with history) and don't have a problem viewing the movie.
I've never had a problem with AVI, nor did I know there was a problem to be had with that format.
Bottom line: the film is great. Excellent quality. Thanks.

LezDawson : avi or DiivX are for children that cant afford storage drives !! why would you own anything less than 720p in quality!!! We are now in the 1080p world so why accept anything less?
