Lots of clipping in this, sometimes over two dozen consecutive samples.
As 'flac' is as best a compression of about 2:1, perhaps just leaving it in the wave file is better?
PS both protools and adobe audition offer excellent tools for fixing the clipped samples

The converted wave is 736 MB vs. 346 MB for flac.
