Here it is! The movie Disney doesn't want you to see! Excellent video quality, captured from rare import Japanese Laserdisc. NEVER released by Disney in the US due to alledged racial stereotypes. This one is FAR SUPERIOR to the .avi format that is floating around. Join Uncle Remus, Brer Rabbit, and all the critters in this timeless classic set down on the plantation! It has some Japanese Subtitles, but only during a few of the songs. Two large chapters represent each side of the laserdisc. This movie is where the classic song "Zippity Doo Dah" originates. They use it now in all their promotions, but refuse to release the film. I burned this ISO to DVD and it wouldn't play on one of my DVD players though it it would play on another and on my computer as well. I have found that there's something wrong with the formatting so I used "dvdauthor" to re-work it a bit (no effect against video quality) and created a new ISO that should play on ALL DVD players now. I'd be happy to make it available if anyone is interested.

Honestly, the only thing retarded is that Disney not only took it upon themselves to "ban" this movie, but chooses to pretend it never existed even though the soundtrack is still used in Disney parks as soundtrack material. Yeah, it's chock full of racial stereotypes and is understandably offensive to some African Americans, but it is a prime example of American culture in the late 1940's and so has intrinsic historical value. Those who would accuse America of being retarded need to look closely at their own country's history and learn how racism has molded it's development. It's unfortunate that many countries hide their sad and frightening histories from children and students, and in so doing, engender a generation of blind and ignorant fools who cannot learn from those earlier mistakes.

Quality A = 7, V = 7, roughly equivalent to a VHS dub. Not the sharpest transfer, but still watchable.

thanks for uploading this movie i loved it when i first saw it in at the movie theater back in the early 70's ithink it was around 1970 maybe 1969 yes it does have racial stereotypes in it but it is taken from stories handed down from Afro American slaves
