Thanks very much for this welcome upload. Robert Urich made a great Spenser, and Avery Brooks was the best Hawk ever. Joe Mantegna was never right for the part: too old, not in shape, too Italian, neither educated enough nor a tough guy.

What LazarusL said, plus nowhere near the actor the late Robert Urich was. I will never understand who thought Mantegna was in any way, shape, or form Spenser, or what they were smoking during the casting sessions.
Hated the second season, though, without Barbara Stock. That may have had something to do with preferring stately brunettes, though...
