7z is a decent file compression utility, and in my experience provides some marginal gains against standard zip archives. He probably wants to cut down on the space all those files take up. I had the same problem, and 7z compression gave me a much better compression, especially for things like games and applications.

Ever since I downloaded this, Coda has been acting funny, slow crawl to open/close, unable to connect to SFTP, anyone else have any issues ?
