Ive given it 100Kbps upload, 2.5 to 3 days maybe but its worth it! if you are in a hurry to watch the episode quickly then theres always the iPlayer or xvid ;-)
Its not the first time ive uploaded something this big, but it is for this connection. Its a bit of a benchmark process for me.

NGCapnJack (2009-04-12)

Why does it need to be that big? There's another mkv file uploaded that's 1/10th the size... Aren't most mkv's high-res with small file sizes?

pHater (2009-04-12)

Could anyone please encode it to 720p? any grp?

death734 (2009-04-12)

NGCapnJack, this is not an encode, its a full 16mbit 1080MBAFF h264 capture. that other mkv is an encode at sd res.
to answer your last question, no definitely not. they can range anywhere from 32x32 to quad HD 2160p (if not higher) and be encodes or nice untouched sources

no one cares.

Does anyone know of where I can find a program that will get the .mkv to Go Away. What's a good transcode/encode application? I'm actually looking to be able to scan the file frame by frame to make some jumbo-sized grabs. I can do this easily enough in QuickTime but VLC only grabs in 10 second intervals. I have a Mac with Tiger, BTW.
Thanks!

THANK YOU so much for the 1080 res HD -- fantastic file, even at that size. I do hope you'll do the same for the rest of the series 4.5 Doctor Who specials.
