Serious audio problems. Sound drops out completely for a second in many places, often losing the last word in dialogue sequences. Subtitles saved the day for me. Mostly in synch, but some obvious places where it isn't. Quality doesn't live up to the large size. You may as well download a smaller one.

As others have said, the Diverse rip goes out of synch when played on a standalone media player, like a portable hard drive connected to a TV, but perfectly in synch when played with VLC on a computer. It also stays in synch when burned to a DVD. I recommend the smaller Diverse rip as long as you aren't using your TV's media player. It's better quality than this bloated rip.

Thx for the tip Saki!

I can't figure out if it is ffdshow for audio or video that causes a little bit of audio lag in MPC-HC. With the default LAV Filters internal filters of MPC-HC the movie plays fine. It plays perfectly with VLC and MPlayer, these have their own way of handling files. It'll play fine if you have more than one way of playing the file. Thanks for the copy!

I don't quite understand why this MKV is the way it is (audio sync problems), but it's fixable. For some reason it's been muxed with gaps in both the audio and video streams that need to be removed.
Programs such as MKVMergeGUI (part of MKVToolNix) & MKVCleaver are required (you'll find them via Google).
Use MKVCleaver to extract both the video and audio streams (video to .h264 file and audio to .ac3).
Open the extracted video stream with MKVMergeGUI and add the extracted audio. Click "Start Muxing" to output a new MKV.
Playing time for the new MKV will be 1:19:14 compared to 1:19:29 for the original file. Video and audio should now be in sync without any stuttering or audio lag. There's no re-encoding so it's fairly quick.
There may be other ways to fix it but the above method will extract the audio and video as contiguous streams and remux them that way. I'd upload a new version but my bandwidth is extremely limited at the moment, so I'm posting these instructions instead.

I forgot to mention.....
The video and audio quality are both excellent, once they've been remuxed (see my previous comment). It's well worth the effort as it's an entertaining film.
